Cause if they do, then that means your bulbs are getting a good ground. If they don't work either, then its either a bad ground or a wiring problem, maybe a broken wire somewhere along the line.

I just had problems with the brake lights on my 65 GTO.
Because the brake lights are also used as turnsignals, the wiring goes through the turnsignal switch. I was not getting a good connection in the turnsignal switch when the signal was NOT on. After replacing the turnsignal switch my brake lights worked. |

yea all tail lites work fine, blinkers work fine ,i have power to the brake lite switch because i accidentallt touched the wire coming to the fuse box on a bolt and it sparked pretty good!is it possible that the problem with the brake lites is in the turn signal switch?how much will that cost?

If you have battery voltage to one side of the brake switch and your turn signals work ok, jump across the switch with a wire, and the brakes lites shoould go on. If not, make sure the second wire from the brake switch is not broken and that it goes up into the steering column connector correctly.
If all that is good, the problem is in the steering column, again, a wire problem or a bad turn signal switch. Live long and prosper

You can get them from your local parts house for about $20-$35. Some GM dealers still carry them, but about $15 more. I think PY even has them in there catalog.
