OK, Honestly I would get her an inexpensive Honda Civic. FWD, and they run forever. Plus you know the statistics on kids wrecking their first car.Replacement parts and body panels are cheap. They have front and side airbags and door sidebars. 5 star safety rating. Protect your girl, and let her take the Pontiac to a show once in a while. Then if she can keep the Honda from getting dented after a year or so, then you can negotiate a Pontiac deal. Then if you decide to sell the Honda they have a great resale value. My Daughter is 14 and lives in Ohio with her mom. As bad as I want her driving a Pontiac, as long as she lives in the snow I have to think front wheel drive. Oh, I already hear it. What about a Grand Am you say, Look at consumer reports for problems. You said you wanted dependability. Honda, Change the oil and tires and drive 200,000. How long can you drive a G/A before it's first trip back to the dealer? Don't get me wrong, I love Pontiacs but when it comes to our kids, you gotta be smart. Dil
