I would certainly appreciate a copy of the article. I have a 700 R4 and am not sure what mods it needs to run in the '71 Bird.

Address is: [email protected]

Thanks,

Jim

Chufham: I've read that the earlier 700R4's (pre '87) had problems and that the ones to get were the later ones ('87 and up).

As a sidenote to this, I bought a '86 van new and they did not offer the od trans that year; previous years and later years, yes, but not '86. Mine has a Th350. I guess '86 was a changeover year.

I just went through this install in my 85GP/400ci motor. I would like to compare what I did with your article. [email protected]

Could I please get a copy of that article too? I am going to put one in my 65 Tempest along with a 455. I would like to use the original column shift for the powerglide, anyone ever done that? Will it work? How?

ran my 700r4 for alittle over a yr and a half. about 8000 street miles and probaly 30 or so 1/4 mile passes. mine is non lock-up with a 3000 10' converter behind a 62 head 400 that went 13.20 and 12 teens on spray. always ran drag radials even on the street. 1.63 60fts also in a 4200lb GP. changin the motor this week and went thru the trans and its beautiful inside. the 455 i have now should put me around the same numbers on motor that i was doing on the spray and then whatever ET on nitrous. hopefully it stays together. but with 390s and that first gear there werent too many cars that could beat me light to light even tho i was usually a full second faster than the supercharged mustangs running around.

THANKS,
