I'M WANTING TO CHANGE MY 71 LEMANS FROM AN AUTOMATIC TO A 4 SPEED. I HAVE SOME QUESTIONS I HOPE THAT SOMEONE COULD ANSWER.
1. THE ENGINE IS A 350 PONTIAC ENGINE. IS THE CRANK ALREADY DRILLED FOR A PILOT BEARING?
2. I HAVE A FLYWHEEL WITH A CASTING # 9779233.
CAN ANYONE I-D THIS NUMBER? DOES IT USE A 10 1/2 INCH CLUTCH OR 11 ? DOES IT MATTER?

the crank is drilled for the pilot bearing.

If the flywheel can fit a 400/455 crankflange, it will fit the 350 crank flange pattern.

10.4 vs 11.0 Pressure Plate...I dunno...is it a dual-pattern flywheel?

WELL, I CAN REST EASIER NOW THAT I KNOW THE CRANK ISN'T GOING TO BE A PROBLEM!
AS FOR THE FLYWHEEL, IT CAME OFF OF A 69 GTO.
NO, IT ISN'T A DUAL BOLT PATTERN.
