Default Aircraft Spruce and Specialty

Well I want to say the customer service after the sale I received from this company was GREAT!!! I odered a bottle of there Alumiprep and Alodine to treat my new KRE heads. The botle of Alumiprep was slightly cracked during shipping. It was obvious that this was not the shippers fault. Very little leaked out. But the label/instructions were faded out. They faxed me a replacement as soon as I requested it. Then when I started to do my treatment I realized there are TWO different anodizing solutions they sell. One is clear the other leaves a tint for painting. Since I wasn't too clear on what I needed they sent the tinted one. When I called to explain what happened they said they would send me the clear stuff free of charge. This is mainly due to the hazmat fees for returning this bottle. It's only $10 but they are #1 with me for sending me a bottle free of charge when it was probably my fault for not being clear on what I wanted.

I'll do a follow-up once I treat the heads. This product was recommend by a few folks on this and other boards on treating aluminum parts so they don't corrode over time.

I've dealt with AS&S a few times myself and there is one local to me on the south side of Atlanta. This was for model airplane supplies (aircraft dope, light ply, fiberglassing products, etc.) when I was in that hobby.
You are right, they are a class act.

I buy all my fittings from them. They are usually 30%-50% cheaper than Summit/Jegs and its always aircraft quality.

Spruce does put out a race car catalog for exactly that reason.

Thanks for the info. I ordered the regular catalog already. It's a pretty nice catalog for FREE. But I went ahead and ordered the race one also. I have a pilot friend who may want the regular catalog.

So how did the anodizing work out on the aluminum heads?
