Is there a way to gain access into the rocker channel for cleaning purposes? I've got lots of pinestraw in there.
I've been told I can get into if from the kickpanel area but I have not been able to access it.
The back edge is open due to some wheelhouse and quarterpanel work...that's how I can see the pinestraw. I wan't to push it out the back before I close it up. Luckily, there's no rust and it's very dry but if it gets wet, I can see it staying that way for a long time.

how about drilling a hole near the front and blowing it to the rear with air?
the just put a plastic or rubber plug in the hole when you are finished.

Yeah, that's an idea and it's doable...Plus, I guess I could use the hole to clean it out in the future if necessary.
If I don't get anything better, I'll do it.

I used compressed air to clean out mouse nests from my rockers on the 69 GTO I restored several years ago. Also had one of those mechanics fingers inside a cable where you push the end to extend the fingers and when you release button the fingers close. You can get lots of crap out with that $2 tool. You might want to boost your compressor up to 125 PSI to get the max effect. I blew the air through the rocker moulding mount holes without drilling additional holes. You just need to work each end back and forth getting stuff out little at a time. Of course you could drop $5K and dip the body and not mess with the compressed air.... Good luck

Another good idea to try. I am still curious about the access I was told about in the kick panel. I'm going to try to get by the guy's house this weekend and maybe he can show me what he's talking about.

In case anyone is interested, I found out how to get in there. It was right in front of me but I didn't see it until today. Probably would have been more obvious on the pass side.
Anyway, there is a removable hatch under the kick panel. I removed the parking brake pedal to make it easier to access. It's got about 5 screws holding it in place and it's also sealed with a bit of body putty. Pop it off and reach down...Be ready to feel enough dead leaves and pine straw to stuff a couch pillow.
I vacuumed it out while simultaneously running a length of fishtape up the rocker panel from the rear. Cleaned it out pretty well. Later I'll hose it out before I seal it back up.
