Looks like the last decent day for a long time, so I uncovered the car and drove her to work today. Took a few pics while I was at it.

Always did love the nose on the 70's.

Note to guys restoring 70 blue interiors....this post has a great shot of how mismatched the various blue bits really were on these cars!

Some of the color mismatch is likely due to sun fading/damage. The bright blue seems to like to turn to green after being exposed to the sun after a while.

Those rims look like the same style that were on my '71 Trans Am. A previous owner installed them in 1980 and threw out the now priceless KN code Rally II rims!

The seats were recovered, and subsequently worn out again (hence the tacky seat cover). The interior panels like the door handle section and the upper interior of the back seat have faded pretty badly and actually cracked a little over the years. They need totally replaced. The dash pad is also obliterated with three gaping cracks. The door panels, dash, gagues and carpet are all in pretty good shape. It's a little rough but a little hard work will get her looking good again.
I have the Rally IIs at my grandparents house (one in the trunk) but I think most of them are missing the gems in the middle. But the most important thing is that it drives great! I was reading the date stamp thread and check the manifolds, on was Oct 69, the other Jan 70 and the car was April 70. Will try to get under the hood this weekend and check out some other things. |

They actually came with my 77 Formula w72/4-speed. The front are 14's and the rear are 15's. They look good but I'd like to come across some other ones that are bigger.

Mine's missing the front flares and spoiler too. My wife says the car looks like a shark.

Need to get the front spoilers. I bought Wheel Vintiques 15x8's but I still like the astro wheels.

This will be at least the fourth set of front spoilers on the car (hopefully this spring). Before the suspension got replaced the front end was way too low and kept eating parking space blocks. Ouch.
