Ron H.
You are right Biltit sure runns strong ( maybe that Canadian air). I thought that was pretty good with a 230/ 236 @ ..050 cam. in a full trim car power steering, power brakes and all. Plenty of vacumm to. However, there is always someone bigger and badder. I was pleased with the performance though. I am now running KRE's with a bigger cam and picked up about 8 tenths. Like I said you can do it all sorts of ways. I tend to like the roller though in a street car that is often used to go for dinner and the like. I guess if you do it with a hydrolic you can save a bunch of money. That is always good in my book.

Picked it up this weekend. After all of this research the GTO is probably going on the back burner for a while. This 63 Tempest is cool. I'm going to look up as many pictures as I can get from the old nostalgia days of the SD cars.

Glad you got it. I bidded on the car and got two scam second chance offers on it after bidding ended. I'm building a 462 and looking for a good body. Any leads on one down Montgomery way?

none atall. I looked for one for a long time. I was looking for a 63 when I bought Brians 68 Firebird and made a 10.90 car out of it. Right about the time I got the firebird finished, I bought this car. The 63 of course has no cage and will take a lot of work to get ready BUT I have something to start with.

Check out Pete McCarthy's book on Pontiac Musclecar Performance. It's got a lot of pictures of 63 SD Tempests. A buddy knows of a 63 parts car here in B,ham if you need one.
