I am sure both the buyer and seller are unaware that this is a reproduction valve cover decal. It was made by Bob Warden in the late 70's to early 80's. It is a good quality reproduction, but is not NOS GM. I have one of these that came with an SD-455 car I bought. It was in an envelope with the invoice from Bob Warden.
The NOS GM decal does not have the 3M logo on the back, and has the GM part number printed on the front. The piece with the part number breaks off and separates from the decal when the backing is removed. I don't know if the buyer would have paid $405.99 if he had known it was a repro, but maybe he will be happy with it anyway. |

whoever has an original sticker needs to get with "njsteve" as he has a connection to have such items reproduced to the highest standard.

The place is ECS Automotive, http://www.ecsautomotive.com/oscmax/index.php
Ask for Dave, the owner. He needs an original decal to do this properly. Photos are not usually good enough. He does amazing work and is actively seeking new GM decals to reproduce as they expand their line into GM products. |

depressions was misspelled as "deSpressions" on the first repros, but apparently was corrected in later runs.

So . . If this $405 decal is a repro, then the flaw has obviously been corrected.

I understand this is one of the early repops and the second generation had the spelling error. The third generation has it corrected, however there still is a few things that stands out on the originals besides the letter S.
The originals seem to have the horizontal lines on the left raised up and they stand out more, the complete decal seems to be thicker then the repops. toomanytas, could you help us on getting something going here? |

I have one of these stickers that I thought was original GM, but now I see the word "despressions" is misspelled on my sticker, should be " depressions".So I guess I have a repo one, dang!

Hey 165th,
you mention something in your last post that I didny get because of a high priced decal. What other car is coming down the pipeline? What do you know? Louis1-My 1973 auto sd had 14k miles on her with one repaint. Im talking original shocks, truck mat, tags on the front springs-sway bar-shocks-brake booster-valve cover XD decal on the front the bar graph type. Nice dry, awesome car. Then it happened a friend (now enemy-ha,ha) noticed the extra "S" on my despressions. AHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, sure was a bummer that day. Looks great now with a repop but I'll get bumped to modified if Bob heres about this. So keep it quit, OK! Brew |

Brew, that is one cute baby. I especially like your choice of names as I'm sure you thought of my dad when naming him!
Regarding that next car coming down the pipeline, I understand there's a Brewster car on it's way onto the market!

Atta boy Brew! Good-looking kid. So, when does he get to take the wheel? Here's a couple of my favorite pictures of my Carlie. I see a little bit of her dad in her.

165th,
It's not any of mine! what are you doing selling that baby already. What about your offspring? or are you talking about someone else? Yes, we named him in honor of my father Frank, but we call him Frankie until he fits into a Frank shoe. Hey Jeff, thats a great picture of your daughter behind the wheel. I'll have to capture a picture like that with my boy before he gets any bigger. I printed that one out to show my wife and she right away said "I suppose you want to get a picture of Frankie like that" and I said yeap. Since the warm weather has melted all the snow I think pulling the car out is in order to capture the moment. Will post a new shot soon. Brew |

What's going on? You got something different in the works? Let us all know. The way you were scoping cars at the Nationals this year it looked like you were going to hang on to yours forever.

NO WAY!
Is the wife behind this or is BOB right and your looking at another? HMMmmmmmmmm? Sorry to hear it since I was hoping to meet at the Nationals this year and have a couple Brewster Cars in the grass. Dam it Jim ! Well you have to do what you have to do, and I hope its important enough to you and yours. Good luck and hope to get together someday with or without that Green Car of yours. Bob, I never would have guessed there would be anything important enough to part with this car, and it does take something very special to cause this kind of decision to be made.
I am in the midst of making a job change and going into business for myself. I need the capital for start up, and decided it would be best to fund the start up myself, than worry with an angel invester (i.e. nagging silent partner). Business plan does have another SD in the proforma, but more along year 3 or so! Brew, luckily it's not the wife. This is one of the few cars that have passed through my small stable that she has really liked, and I've been battling her in the decision as much as any. Maybe this car can line up with yours next summer after all, but with it's new happy owner! I'll try to make that a mandatory part of the deal, ha! Greg
