About a year ago I had a falling out with KRE over the MR-1 block I bought.Being a hard head I stopped dealing with them because the deal was not handled to my liking nor in the timeframe that seemed acceptable to me.After dealing with some of the other vendors on the parts side I can say they were much better than most.I will continue to seek out another vendor that can match their service level but I may never find one.

I can understand the dilemma that the block issue created but I wouldn't let that get in the way. Everybody makes a mistake, we're only Human. Jeff has always been good to me and they almost always have what I need in stock and ready to ship. I made a call very late in the day for some pushrods and I needed them quick, they did not have the length I needed, Jeff said no problem I'll get them to you, I thought no way but the next day I had them direct from Comp.

KRE has alway's been a class act to me, and I have spent thousands of dollars with them. I'm sure they had to get their ducks in a row, to make the MR1 thing right, which they did, in my opinion, it just took more time then expected, all these internet forum lawyers aside.
But, if you need parts, Try calling Spotty....Also a class act, knows his stuff too. He just doesn't make his own parts.
He's just as tough to get on the phone though......LOL

Mr. Roberts has still not been "made right" for his defective block...a block that fits the criteria of KRE's recall letter...a letter that Mr. Roberts never received.

I continue to be impressed with the engine KRE built for me in 2002. The motor dyno 743 HP. The motor is now 4 years old. Two years ago I replaced head gaskets with the Cometic brand. This next week I am replaceing valve springs. The car (with driver) weighs 3440 lbs. The car's best time is 9.74 @ 138MPH. I am in the process of building another KRE High Port motor. Thanks KRE for the high winding Pontiac motors and keep up the good work.

Nope. Case has not been closed yet, or even fully heard. Just opening motions from the lawyers on both sides to date.

As for my nostalgia funny car having been advertised as an attraction at a previous "Pontiacs in the Park" event at VMP, I had nothing to do with that, nor did I receive any money for that, nor was I ever going to receive any money for the appearance. The advertising for that event is handled by Chief Pontiac Productions, not myself. If you are upset that the Crusader funny car did not make an appearance, I'd like to suggest that you take the matter up with Chief Pontiac Productions.

Since we're on the subject of publicly disseminating factual information, why don't you answer this question, Mr. KRE Mouthpiece:

Why is it that Mr. Roberts, who purchased a MR1 "straight 4-bolt main" block, did not receive a public recall letter on said block, while other customers that purchased the same style blocks did? The facts are irrefutable.

"Self imposed" recalls are at the discretion of the manufacturer, and can be directed as they see appropriate. A "court mandated" recall is something totally different.

Hypothetically, a manufacturer could decide not to recall a specific product believing they will end up in court anyway, possibly resulting in a more favorable outcome.

Sometimes the squeeky wheel doesn't get the oil, it simply gets removed and replaced with a more desirable wheel.:Peace:

Well....based on this all being "second hand" info and only assuming it to be accurate, in principle perhaps it should apply. But strategically, if the manufacturer strongly believes they'll end up in litigation, and views the complaintant as "hostile or slanderous" then their best approach from a legal standpoint is to let it go to court.

Again, a self imposed recall can be as narrow as the manufacturer chooses: the week,day or hour a product was made, color of skin,or number of nipples.

Only a court of law can determine whether the criteria used was fair and resonable.

I would think that, "strategically" (as you put it), all bets are off if the manufacturer/vendor places in print, a statement such as that. When they say "all", it means just that...not a smaller select number. I think a judge would find it very capricious for Mr. Roberts to be denied satisfaction after seeing such a recall letter.
