Talking horsepower predictions on new combo

hi guys been awhile since my last post but i wanted to let you know that i have built a new engine for the firebird, let me know what you think as i will be taking it to the dyno in a couple of weeks. here's the combination: 428 block hardblocked to bottom of water pump holes, forged crank, double keyed, eagle rods, ross pistons, edelbrock heads ported to flow 330 cfm by sd performance, 1:65:1 rollers rockers, custom pushrods, roller cam .600 lift 112 lda, [email protected], bds manifold, weiand 8-71 driven 1:1 making 13 to 14 pounds of boost. so let me know what you think, iam shooting for 850 to 900 horsepower, it will run on race fuel, hoping to put my ca into the 9's with this combination.

Even if you only made 500 or so HP with that combo NA,13-14 pounds of boost is certainly capable of making those numbers a reality.

With those parts 500 HP/NA would be an extremely conservative estimate,so it stands to reason that your blown HP goals should be realistic with this hardware.

Blown combos can be real tricky to play the "guessing game" with, even if you use a sim program, just too many varibles IMHO.

So I'm not gonna make a precise guess myself.

The question will be can you hook that kinda power, and does the car have all the required saftey gear for those kinda ET's...

Good luck with it,sounds healthy!

BTW,your gonna hafta change your screen-name to blowerdave.

I think you will reach your goal. Having said that, at 850-900 HP do you think you should use an IA2 block? I am shooting for that power level myself, and have similar parts to yours. I am using a F1R instead of the Roots and a 4.350 IA2. Good luck Dave and make sure you post the Dyno results.
