Finally Made it in to the 11.00s
I finally got the car to hook up and make a good pass. Started the day just like last weekend 1.94 60 foot. This is after 90/10 installed on front 50/50 on rears removing the sway bar and loosening up the upper arms and removing the upper a arm stops I was getting hot. SWARING That the mt et radials suck. That pass there was so much tire spin that there was smoke coming from the tires 1st and 2nd. next pass part throttle off the line and it was a 1.84 60 foot still spinning . I was parked next to a couple of really nice mopar guys with a beautiful 69 dart on spray and ask them if they new what was wrong they looked and said remove the traction bar front u bolt and cut 1/2 in off the snubber so I did next pass was a part throttle leave ,should off been a full throttle leave with the traction it had. 1.60 60 foot and 7.24 @94.5 conversion is 11.39 in a 3800 lb 69 fb full interior street car 3.55 gear with 26 in tall mt et radials a 463 ehead MR.P-BODY engine. Now I need to tune the engine it was running very rich and it just mite make it to 11.00 Going to denwitty for a real 1/4 mile run next THANK YOU MR.P-BODY FOR A 800 RPM smooth idling low 11 second engine on 93 oct. fuel . Also thank you mopar guys. If you need a killer 11.00 street motor that idles at 800 rpm and has 13 in of vaccum for your power brakes MR.P-BODY IS YOUR MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice man !!! Nothing like a drive anywhere near stock smooth idle and enough power to keep the new car guy's in the rearview !

It was great! The looks on peoples faces as my wife and I loaded up the trunk with folding chairs and a cooler and some tools and hooped on the interstate and turned on the raido and drove 40 miles home .

Excellent improvement, those are definitley the good days at the track!! Tell us about your combo. Beautiful car BTW...also looks like you are in ROllbar times now.
We have to get some no trailer queens decals .....there is nothing better than driving up switching tires and running mid 11's. Rich

Good job Dan!
I was down there with my 442 but didn't get a chance to talk to you. I was having traction issues myself but did manage a 1.42 60' but came down on my oil pan on my last run. No major damage though. Shoot me a PM next time you go.... John

Was that you red olds? Man that is a sharp car. To bad about your oil pan. What engine is in it? I wanted to come and see the car it was and eye catcher !!!!!! I spent most of the day mfing m/t tires and trying to fix the car . Thank God for other people that know there stuff and are willing to help. To gain a second and 3 mile an hour by cutting the snubbers and removing the ubolt shock a lot more people than me. I leaned the carb out and went to a hotter plug and put back the timing I took out today and I think it just picked up alot more can't wait to be asked to take my heater and wipers running and listening to the radio street car home for running low 11 will be great!!!!!!!! So I will clime in it and drive it home.

Thanks! It is a 468 Olds engine with steel heads. The oil pan was just a scrape as I do have stops on the control arms, but just didn't have them adjusted enough. The 8 quart pan hangs a little too low for me. Unfortunately, I went -.004 red in the first round, so my days was over early!

The valve train is comp cams mech. roller cam. I'm not sure of the grind you can ask mr.p-body at central Virginia machine he knows all. It was a turn key engine from him. I know it is over .600 lift. I have lost the card. I think the secret to the power was all the port work he did to the heads because they did not make that kinda power on my 406. After dropping 3 jet sizes in the carb and setting the timing back to 34 this thing really cam to life it is scary fast. I'll let you know what the time run is at dinwitty when they ask me to leave for diving my street car to fast with no rollbar, I hope it will be 11.00 or better. I still can't get the grin off my face .I drove it to work today. It was a little cold this morning so I had the heat on. I drive the car allot.

Dan is one of those guys that makes a shop like ours look really good! It's a "team effort" to get a car like this one to run and drive the way it does. We (CVMS) can take credit for the power, but Dan and his friends get ALL the credit for getting the power to the GROUND! I know his MOPAR buddies have become rather quiet... They couldn't believe a true "street" Pontiac could go 11s without adders.
The cam is a "custom" grind XE solid roller. And Dan's correct, the porting is the "key" to such an engine. We can get the volume up without hurting the velocity. More and more of our "pump gas" guys are in the low 11s and some in the 10s. Thanks for the compliments, Dan! We'll probably see you at Dinnwiddie the 12th.
