A friend of mine has a chevy 454. All I know about the motor is that it runs on pump gas and it has a 292/292 cam. What should the initial timing be?

i have been running mine with no vac advance. 22 degrees of centrifical advance in the springs. setting the total advance at 30-36 degrees at 3000 rpm.
depending on how lumpy the motor actually is it is a pain in the ass to set initial as it jumps around too much . Just set the total where it works best and still starts with out kicking backward. |
