If anyone is looking at my HO carb in classifieds or ebay, I screwed up on date code. It is 2871 NOT 2371.... DUH!

Thumbs up LOOKIN' GOOD!

NICE T/A, KIRK!

It's refreshing to see an early 70's T/A with all of the "Hi-tech" 80's stuff still on it & being used/enjoyed still.

There is NOTHING like a Doug Nash 5 speed with 3.08's in these cars!

Have you thought about some "cool" late 70's period aftermarket wheels?

Perhaps they are in the garage?

I've got a set of vintage Ricky Recardo's in my 71 T/A.(They look & work GREAT!)

What year is your Fiero?

Ouch is right!! If you are referring to that absolutely gorgeous Ferrari 308 GTS; it looks like maybe a 1980 or 1981 model.

Oh that red thing in the pic? It is a friend of mines. It is a 1979 308GTS. And it is a slug compared to the T/A. Heck it might just be for sale soon. Anyway a very, very nicely built car with a tiny High reving transverse mounted V8. And I am almost sure cruising, the T/A might match it in mpg! But with a rev happy motor, and the sound in the drivers seat is killer. Hard to keep yoour foot out of it. Oh by the way cops love it too. They watch it like a hawk and give you the mean eyes "you must be up to no good" so not good to let it rip when it can be observed. Fun car but I would not trade my T/A for it. Best reguards Kirk

By the way the Corvette is my wifes "pacifier" so she leaves the T/A to me!

Some were long ago I read (HPP?) that an exact numer of blue T/A's is not known but the ratio of blue to white was 5 to 1. Or for every 1 blue T/A there were 4 white ones made. I don't remember where I read this or when, but it has stuck in the "muck" in my mind for many years. So doing the math and knowing there were 1285 made it comes up around 320 cars. Hope this is a help, and anyone who know I am wrong please "pipe up!" Best reguards Kirk

Rumors....... Well I guess you might consider it a rumor, but if they made 458 4 speeds and going on a 1 blue for every 4 whites built that would make it one of 91.6. Hmmmm... I wonder if that is a pretty good number to go by? Cool.

Guilty,

I think if what I "remember" is correct, that it would be less than one hundred cars. Seems kinda low, to me anyway. Do blue cars fetch more money than a white one? Best reguards Kirk

MY observation on WHITE vs BLUE early (70-72) T/A's would be about 3 to 1.(it tends to be a "regional" thing)

Not sure if the BLUE ones are worth a whole lot more, but ultimately they seem to sell FASTER.

EVERBODY has seen a WHITE ONE (how could you miss it?) but the BLUE ones, being a bit more subtle, are NOT as widely recognized by people NOT in the know.

I took my GTO out for a little run this morning. There is a great road near my office that is just tailor-made for stretching the legs of a 455 HO with an M22. I had the road all to myself and was able to practice my launch technique. I REALLY love this car!!! That M22 will take whatever you give it and you absolutely cannot beat a round port motor. I am right in the middle of reading Jim Wanger's book "Glory Days" and also just finished reading the HPP article on the Pure Stock Drags and well.....I just had to go "bang some gears". AWESOME!!!!!

Its nice to be in this particular club.. Even if mine is rather ugly and needs everything. Being a no paint code Formula really helps me get over the roughness.

Lloyd is the one who is killing me. He has more HOs than I have Pontiacs!

Aw, come on now!

I have exactly ONE gennie HO car, my GTO.

My Formula was originally a 400 car, now a 455HO "tribute". And . . . it's f****** ugly. Needs paint and interior in the worst way. But - it's fast, fun, and I'm not worried about it every second it's on the road or parked at a show, LOL!

Lloyd:

I was down in your neck of the woods last Friday picking up a new (to me) Dodge Durango. I bought it from Texas Direct Auto in Missouri City, just SW of Houston. Flew down on Friday and drove it back. Got back to Michigan Saturday evening. 1369 miles!

How close was I to your place? Not going to Spearfish now. Too much money for the fuel. Lot's of people cancelling according to the hotel. You still going?

Haven't had my round port motor out yet this season. Still waiting for my hood latch to arrive. We had a little shipping snafu.

Those are the BEST KIND! (and the MOST FUN)

Don't get me wrong,I'm a big fan of #'s matching survivors & restorations, but a "driver" quality car, built to your OWN personal preferrences is the most enjoyable way to go.

Darn it, Bob - I wish you had called me, though I'm sure you were on a tight schedule. I sure would have liked to meet you. Maybe next time, right?

Mo City is about 1/2 way between my house and my shop! 10 miles from either.

Did you pick that Durango up for yourself, or for Chrysler? Long way to travel for a Durango - is it something special?

I've also decided to cancel Spearfish. Gave my two rooms to Brewster, and now he's backed out as well. This fuel situation - and the economy in general - just plain SUCKS!

Lloyd:

What makes you think I have your phone number? LOL

I wanted a 2WD Durango and they just don't exist in Michigan as you can imagine. This was a Waco truck from new and it is really nice. No salt or winter corrosion anywhere!

Enough hijacking of this thread! We'll meet up somewhere!
