I used a ruler and had 5/8" in the middle of the side by laying the ruler flat on top of the bumper and touching car. The rear I did the same by laying the ruler flat on the bumper right under the reverse lights and measured 1" gap.

Got what I thought was part of the waay through the video (saw the drag strip action)and the vid went to an offroad story? Any suggestions?
I like driving mine,just got it inspected Sat. The rumble and exp.I will enjoy it as long as I can.Tomorrow is promised to no one.It just turned over 39K. I don'tlook at the car as $ I just like it. |

A bunch of misinformation but cool video nonetheless.
The red 74 at the strip is the car that rwinkles just sold. It won the stock class drags that year. I think 1994 or so. The car went 13.10 or so as I recall!

SD carbs vs typical q jet
what is different about an SD carb and a regular pontiac qjet. can a qjet from a 71 455 or 78 400 be made to woke with an SD engine?

I have the correct numbers carb for the car, but due to sitting, it is a little ' stiff' if you will. been soaking it w/ penetrating oil and tranny fluid. for the interim, I am just looking to install a carb and drive. I have some of the later ones w/ electric choke.

 I believe they where painted with the engine however years of oil being impregnating into the rubber leaves them looking almost like they weren't. My one original looked natural rubber but after looking at it in a digital picture you could see shades of blue though out the plug from it being painted. I'm with Brew on this one. I believe that they would have been painted. I would never restore one that way though. I'm not one for the absolute way the factory did it.
1000 posts and we can't get our own section. The G8 already has a section in with the 2004-2006 GTO's. What gives?
