Where did you get that upper radiator hose.
It fits better than mine that I got from PY.

I thought I replied to your post but it is gone. Anyway, I got my upper hose fron PY as well. I turned my thermostat housing around and the hose fits better. You can't tell it unless you look closely.

Well, I spent about two hours removing the top frame and installing the spark plug wire loom in the correct position on the driver's side head. The bolt hole had been filled in and painted over. I dug the filler out and ran a tap into it to clean it up.
I spent all day Friday, Saturday and a half a day Sunday rearranging and cleaning my shop. Now, all my GTO parts are in one spot. At least the ones I could find are!
My body man called and said my hood is ready so I will go get it next Friday.
We are about to get hit with a thunderstorm so I am going to cut this short.

I hadn't thought about the air cleaner. I plan on getting one. The air cleaner I have on there now is 14"s in diameter. How does that compare to a stock one? I have about 3/4" between the hose and cleaner.

Stock air cleaner is 14 3/4".

Also, look at how mine sticks way out on top of PS reservoir.

I picked up the hood Friday morning. I also took the top frame off and painted it last Monday. Got the hood and frame re-installed Friday afternoon. I know it will have to come back off for paint but I wanted to see how everything lined up. Anyway, I worked 8 hours and spent $110.00 this week. Getting the hood done cost $100.00 and I bought some parts from a fellow PYer for $10.00.

Well, I restored the parking lamp housings and adjusted the convertible top frame this week. I am going to order new lenses and gaskets for the parking lights and they will be ready. I am also going to order some more parts but need to ask some questions first. I will post them in a seperate thread. I worked 4 1/2 hrs and bought $14.95 worth of paint and supplies.

Man, I have been on it this week! I replaced the pigtails on the back-up lamps and tag light. Well, almost. I buohgt some universal sockets from Auto Zone and took the wires out of them and put them in the sockets on the lamps. I still have to come up with some grommets and connectors to hook them to the rear lamp harness.I also made some gaskets for the backup lamps out of a piece of scrap 1/4" rubber gasket material that a local company gave me. They are crude but hopefully will do the trick.
I redid the tag light, cleaned the headlight mounting buckets and polished all four headlight retaining rings. The third picture shows one after polishing and one before.
My new best friend is a Dremel tool with polishing attachments. I also got the top pump cleaned and working but it is for a 66. So, I will probably look for the correct one. I cleaned and tested the top cylinders and found a dent in one that prevents it from extending all the way.
I worked on the wiper motor but it seems to be a lost cause so I will look for a replacement.
Anyway, I put in 15 hours labor and spent $11.52 on parts.

Well, good news and not so good news. Good news is I got in a full week's work so I have money to buy some more parts. Not so good is I worked all week out of town and by the time I got home it was too late to work on the car.
I ordered about $300 worth of parts from our host and bought another $150 worth from fellow PYers.
I will update the totals when I get the parts.

3,525I got another week's work in. But, this money has to go for tires for my truck and the wife's SUV.
I received my order from our host and spent 1 hour installing the parts. Some of which will come back off when it is time to paint the car.
I got new chrome header ends, sunvisor supports, alignment pins and cables for the convertible top.
I also got the lenses and gaskets for the parking lights.
I have some other parts ordered from fellow PYers but have not received them yet.
Next weekend I will be in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. for the Grand Rod Run so I may post either Thursday night or Sunday night when I get home.

You got me to thinking so I went back and checked my figures. I had figured some outside labor in as parts. I also figured the body lift in as parts when I actually traded it to my bodyman towards the bodywork.I also had listed $600 worth of powder coating under parts. And, I added my sums incorrectly on top of that!
So here are the re-calculated figures.

My labor hours are listed at the top of the totals. Outside labor is listed third and that is anything that someone else does on the car. Outside labor also contains some parts and materials that the people doing the work may have bought.
And no, I have not added in the initial cost of the car. I will probably reveal the purchase price when I do the final total.
