The lift works ! Hey, it held my duty long enough for me to lube up all the natural items underneath. Awesome when your 6'3" and you can get the car high enough to work without your neck thing going...........
Craig, the white cooler was waiting and is still available upon request? Dick, whats up ? you havent been this active on this site since well before the Viper Days, )=( nice to see your still alive ;-) and enjoy your contributions. Bob,
Which ratty old Ford? There are two in those pics. Not mine, they are my buddy Bill's. Dick, I got a Direct lift, 9000 LB lifting capacity. I got it through Greg Smith Equipment. Long and very wide and stable. It weighs about 2200 LBs and comes with urethane wheels, jack tray, plastic drip trays and two wheel chocks. $2595 + $190 for shipping. No need to bolt it down, so I can put it where ever I wish and it's 110 volts. I am totally digging it.  Both of my Formulas had to be stored off site so we could have enough room to build that sucker, it's BIG !!! I got some more pics with out the Fords I could share if that helps you out Bob  , soon to be Birthday boy! And, yes, we do need to party down there more!SDD

Yeap, clean undercarriage and will post some pictures some rainy day.
I heard the owner of EvBoCo state that more lifts are coming along with a service one for all types of work. Rumor is the drive on noted above is going to used as a stage for the dancers on certain occasions. Might even fab a removable Pole to hit the twenty foot ceiling for those tricks on stage? NHRA SD455 Stockers?
Does anyone know of any current actively campaigned NHRA stock class cars and what they are running today? I haven't been following the drag race world (except for the pure stock drags) since the late '90's and am out of it. Are there any real SD's campaigned today? I recall the Clegg SS/I Formy SD and the Hershlow & Morlock E/SA car from way back in the '70's. Are those cars still around? Does anyone own one of these former (or current) track terrors? I'd love to hear about these cars. I loved reading about them back in the day.

OK fellas, I need some help. I have a set of pistons that I believe to be SD replacements. The part number stamped in the piston top is 493162 and .030 is also stamped into it. I can't verify the part number based on the literature I have. FYI, the boxes all say 493164. If you have information and could PM me I'd be in your debt. TIA!

Thanks, Lloyd. I was pretty sure about that number but I'm still in a quandary over the 493162 number stamped in the top of the piston. Anybody have any insight?

And this from a fellow I know and trust:
Had many sets of nos SD piston/pin assemblies over the years and all were exactly what you're saying. Always a different number on the pistons vs the box. Near as I figured is Pontiac cataloged the piston/pin "assembly" a couple digits different than the piston stamp number. I've had them in standard/.010/.030 and all were unmatching stamped # to box part # but always within a couple digits of the "bibles". FWIW. Bottom line is a single trough forged 455 piston with "any" factory GM part number is obviously a 73-4 SD app.
