I have to disagree- they are real colors! In fact I have a '70 T-37 that is Pinewood Derby Woodgrain code "SCOUTS"

My car used to be a Target-Me Tangerine I think. It has a matching yellow interior. The headliner, dash, and door panels were all yellow as well as the paint.
