I've put a lot of time in on the new Challenger engine program that I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy a new SRT8 Challenger. That's assuming the T/A sells of course.

Ends this morning and seems stuck in the mid fifties. Hope to see some action here this morning to break that reserve for yours, Bob.
If it sells I hope that doesn't mean we wont be hearing from you on the forum any more like you buddy dick? Best of luck Bob, Brew |

Well Bob,
looks like she did not make reserve.(Bummer) Two more bids in the last 30 min though. I guess you are going to have to hang out with us here a bit longer before you get that Challenger! No big deal, re-list it in late March or April, I think you will get more interest then. Even though I hate to see you sell that car I wish you good luck brother! SDD

Bob,
I agree on the time of year. Seems the SD panties are the wettest in the spring. BTW,You guys goin to POCI this year? Beach bend looks like an interesting venue...to race that is.

Clean the oil pick up screen, and show us SD Panty makes most sense!

Did the SDs use the nylon coated timing gear? The ones in the regular Pontiac V8s were notorious for self destructing and clogging up the oiling system.

no, those were long gone thankfully.

The car had sat outside for a number of years and had collected some debris under the intake manifold. There were rust holes in the valley pan. Figured I would remove the oil pan to beat out the big dent in it while I had the engine out replacing the valley pan.

That was a good and easy call. How many miles on the engine?

same deal with my sd, rusted valley pan--prior owner thought he'd blown the head gasket---no drain hose on the shaker and it would collect water, then suck it in when running = milkshake. i'm assuming a full teardown is coming, pics, pics, pics! ;~)

68K miles. The original owner apparently had the engine serviced on a regular basis.

I have a NOS valley pan that works for the SD. Anyone need one it sits in a box.

Are 455 SD main caps any different than other 4 bolt caps ? I read they are of a somewhat harder material but is there a way to identify them with let's say a casting number or something else ? Thanks. Frank.

The forum was slipping down there a bit, so an update was in order ;~)
Posted this up in the suspension forum, but I gave the old girl a spring-ectomy and knocked a 1/2 coil off the fronts ...along with new control arm bushings, ball joints, tires and resetting the Konis to full stiff. Before & After pics. Now she's really begging me to get on with the body & paint work again. The primer's going on 10 years and will have to be taken nearly all the way down ... Anyone has an NOS pass. quarter--for less than a billion dollars??? lol .... |
