Default Data Plate

Can anyone figure out what the body color is from the firewall Data plate. I know its a black plastic top. PHS papers I sent for came back stating color special order, color unknown. They did not see the data tag. maybe someone can help. I am going to try and attach a picture -- not sure how to, but we'll see how I do the first time. Thanks

Most popular special order color seems to be Tiger Gold...but who knows. Try removing one the inner fender to fender bolt & clip and maybe you can see some original paint underneath....or find some untouched paint area on the car to take a look. My guess is Tiger Gold.

'66, is that the yellow one that was recently on the market? I recently saw a Sunfire Yellow '66 GTO on the 'net with the same paint code as yours....the consensus was that it's special order paint was 1966 Corvette Sunfire Yellow. If not that car, the paint under the cowl will almost certainly be the original color, as stated by tripower.

I think its a gold or yellow but not Tiger gold -- The build is rare enough that I am trying to stay with as factory when I restore it. The 1 before the 2 by color indacates it was a special order paint color (non-Pontiac color) Thanks

If you can find the build sheet it should have the color listed
may have a note that says"ship with uncut quart of XXXXX in trunk"
