My '74 Ventura was purchased from Flannery and Sons Buick, Pontiac in Bad Axe, MI. I bought it as a used vehicle off the Flannery used car lot in 1977. They used a foil sticker on the trunk lid at that time. The sticker was not preserved in the car's restoration in the '90s. I do have a modern, plastic plate frame that I managed to obtain before the "Great Massacre" of '09. I believe that Flannerys have built a new dealership outside of Bad Axe, but their original store building is still standing in town.

My '67 GTO was originally delivered to Roster Pontiac in St. Paul, MN. The car was originally sold out of Arrow Pontiac, just a few miles down University Avenue, also in St. Paul. I have a really beat up Roster die-cast tag, but nothing from Arrow. Roster closed during the '80s. Last I heard, the building was used as a specialty car consignment salesroom and auto detailer. Arrow also built a new dealership and moved to Mendota Heights nearly twenty years ago. I think that the original building still stands on University Ave.

I should get some pics of the two original dealership buildings when I visit MN next month.

I am the 3rd owner of my 1963 GP that was purchased new at A.E. England Pontiac in Hollywood, CA. on 3/19/1963. I have the original Sales Invoice, MV Sales contract, Owners Protecto Plate and the original Black CA plates.

I have all of the PHS documents and many R.O.s from the original owner. I have no idea if the dealer had any tags, but have seen License plate frames from this dealer.

Back in 2009 while attending the U.S. Nationals in Indy I saw a 1963 Catalina with the original black plate that was JQE 961 with original dealer frame while my plate is JQE 963. His car was sold the same day and licensed just before mine. He lives in the St. Louis area and bought his car from the original owner and registered it in CA, to keep the plate. What is the odds of seeing this?

Neither of my cars had a plate frame or dealer tag but I would LOVE to find one!

The manual came from Schwab Motor Sales in Warsaw, NY and the Automatic came from Cobb-Kirkland Motor Company in Montgomery, AL.

I've searched for Plate Frames and even talked to an old salesman from Cobb-Kirkland but he couldn't find anything for me in his stash. He was a real nice guy and was happy to try and help out but nothing.

My 69 GTO was sold Livingston Pontiac in Woodland Hills California. I still have the black and yellow 69 CA plates and tag, the orignal window sticker, owners manual, protect-o-plate, lifetime lubrication card and a partial dealer plate frame. My car also came with a stack of repair reciepts. From what I have read, Livingston was the place to buy a hot Pontiac in the LA area.

My '67 HO Hardtop was originally sold at O.R. Anderson Inc. in Minneapolis, MN. So far I have not learned anything about that dealership or the original owner. I do know that the car was owned in Iowa for a time where it was repainted before being brought to Ohio by the person I bought it from. The original color was Tyrol Blue, but now it is Electron Blue metallic.

In 2005, I bought my 67 Firebird just south of Green Bay WI in a little town called DePere. I just recently got the PHS docs. It was sold new in Menomonee Falls WI at Ernie Von Schledorn Pontiac. "Who do you know wants to buy a car?" was the famous commercial advertising the dealership. He is still in business today. The car was repainted and I see no evidence of a nameplate. Not sure if they used plate frames, tags or die cast emblems.
Being that it was a WI car, the original tag probably rusted off it....

My '65 was sold new at Utter Motor Company, in Spokane, Washington. They didn't bolt plaques to the cars (thank goodness) but I have the Protectoplate. It was a Pontiac/Cadillac dealer. Now it's an infinity dealer. I spoke with the ex-wife and ex-owner over the internet a few years ago, and was told that Utter sponsored a college drag racing program locally with donated GTO's. Pretty cool.

My 67 GTO came from Central Gwinnett Motors in Lawrenceville, Ga. I was surprised to find this sticker behind the license plate. When I restored the license plate bracket I taped over the sticker to save it.

This metal tag from Bill Lang Pontiac was on the drivers door of my 70 Formula 400. It is not the same as the PHS, which shows the car was shipped to a dealer in Santa Rosa, CA, about 50 miles from this dealer. Either it was a dealer trade, or it was sold new in Santa Rosa and sold used in Vallejo.

According to original owner of my 69 bird he worked at GM and recieved a new car every year, he picked mine up,at the plant in Ohio and drove it back to Kansas City, said in 70 he got the trans am. I'm going to Phs it some day but I have a copy of each title since new on it, back in the 80's they gave them out at the state DMV. With actual miles and owners addresses, it was never titled to him started with the second owner who I also talked to.

Mine was bought at Louisiana Motors, Lafayette, LA. Their motto was, "Wide Track Town At Pontiac Point".

To this day, the Mardi Gras parade starts at "pontiac point" even though the dealership is long gone.
