I got a surprise when I got the mail in yesterday, a 61-63 Tempest Catalog from Ames. More parts than I thought were available for these cars. I wanted to pass along the information. Pat

The Little Indians were handing them out at the 50th in Norwalk. We have been working with Ames putting this together. It's still a work in progress.

I got one also! Perfect!! The one I got in Norwalk is allready messed up a bit from use. Now I have a "working copy" and a new one. Just like my stockage of tech manuals.

About ten years ago when I asked them what parts for '61-'63 tempests they have because they advertised "Ask us about '61-'63 Tempest parts", the guy gave me attitude on the phone and said that was a misprint and they won't be doing such thing, then hung up on me before I could order anything for my 'bird. So , likewise, left a sore spot for dealing with them for a little while and Classic Industries benefited instead.
Guess I'll need to request a catalog from Ames and give them another try.

I'll have to get one, too. Maybe they have the "Tempest" logos for the front fenders that I've always wanted for my '63.

Jim, IIRC, the "Tempest" emblem for the fenders was the same for all 3 years. The new catalog lists the Tempest emblem for 61 & the LeMans emblem for 63. The color pics in the catalog looks great. The listing says they are low pressure castings & the quality is very good. Ames part number is LC145 & cost is $29.00 each.

I believe the 63 Tempest emblem is different from the 61 & 62's.

Thanks for the heads up, guys. Even if they're a little different from the '63 enbloms, it'll be OK. It is a race car, after all, so it won't matter if they're a little different. It's a fiberglass front end, so I'll be drilling the holes anyway.

Jim, I have a pair somewhere. Will bring them to Speedworld in November if interested. Buy me a pepsi at the track & we can call it even!
