Yes, '71 & 72 converts were all Sports, but the deluxe bench could be ordered, that is indeed what you're seeing with the additional trim charge. Don't believe buckets were standard per say, still had a separate charge for them on a 237 series. Consoles will be billed out separate as well.
From seeing black interior (I can't make out the trim code) Wanker's convert would have a black comfortweave front bench with a fold down arm rest. Interior Pontiac advertised (dealer album & brochures) for '70 233 27 & 37 series models are a different matter, trim codes were added as the model year rolled along. Bill & I have messaged about this before.

pic of the seat... my plans are to drive and enjoy it as much as I can. I want to get the A/C operational and go thru the car to make sure nothing is going to let me down on the road. There are some things that are not correct about the car and I plan on fixing them as time and finances allow. I still can't believe I found it!

The person selling it for the owner told me the block wasn't original. Is it a numbers car? Nice find.

They read the motor number as the vin and assumed it wasn't. The vin is stamped in the correct place on the block, they just didn't know where to look.Super nice guys though, I'd buy another car from them in a heartbeat. Can't say that about any dealer.

It doesn't get much better than that Todd. You're right - if you couln't order a Judge 'Vert this car would absolutely be the next best thing. Love that bench seat with the 4-speed and tilt formulal wheel. Like Chris said - this is an absolute KILLER find! Congrats to you and I'll echo Mike as well - post more pics.

Todd, The way of thinking for those 71 eyebrow stripes were: Black Int got black/red? That one doesn't follow the pattern. Is it original paint and stripes?

Just spoke with original owner, earlier I also spoke with original salesman and a another past owner! Orig owner is a schoolteacher . Selling dealer was right across the street and he had bought a Espresso Brown 69 GTO from them. In 71, they gave him some brochures to look at and he flips to the page with the Lucerne Sport with Endura on it and says thats the one for me. Sits down with the salesman and they option out a Sport convertible . Bench seat was important because he was still single and dating and it brought the ladies closer.A/C and honeycombs and performance was very important. "Do you want a hood tach with that? Sure!" is kind of the way it went, he said. Money was no object, it was meant to be a fun car. GTO and Judge never figured into the equation.

Original color of stripes is the red/white as shown. I will take some pics when I get a nice enough day to pull it outside in the sunshine and I'm not busy with work, which has been the case lately.
