Thought I read recently his crank failed inspection(cracks). Billet I think... that would slow him down some not to mention a big dent in his budget.

He wanted to run BT carb as the FI is a little bit much and would take longer. I believe he will be going to CSU Dominator like the rest of the BT community. CSU is the **** when it comes to BT. Just ask Bankbook he runs one.

Agree on CSU's reputation. BT makes alot of sense if you have a whole new combo to sort. The EFI is nice but it takes alot of sorting to work thru its quirks. IMO you either convert to EFI and learn your system then add your turbo or you sort your combo with BT and add the EFI another time. EFI learning curve is more intense.

Well, I haven't been on lately to read all the cylinder head hating threads started by spectators all over this site, so when Travis called and asked about my crank failing inspection, I went ballistic lol. I haven't heard anything from butler about my crankshaft so I'm guessin all is good. I would hope I am the first to know if there is a problem. Not being snippy toward you, just sayin.

As for an update, things seem to be moving along at snail like speed. It's no ones fault, just takes time to get parts in.
At my last discussion with David butler, everything was moving along and we were waiting on a few back ordered parts. Hopefully things will start coming together soon. I have been thinking lately about using a carb for a bit to speed up the process and help me ease into this giant transition that is twin turbo Pontiac power. The injection is the ultimate goal for sure, but the pocket book and my fear of change has me looking at my options on induction. It doesn't help any that my best friend runs a Csu dommy on his pro charged combo and we don't have any trouble out of it. Carb, fuel pump and hat all together were under 3000 dollars. And I can put it on, and hopefully tune it myself. Still not sure what I'm gonna do. Depends on how well the business is doing, and when I get my parts back from butler. I have decided to go ahead and spend the money to have a professional build the headers, mount the turbos and run all the piping and mount the intercooler. It amazing how much extra money I have now that i am not racing my Pontiac constantly. So, when the engine parts get here, I will assemble the engine, bolt it in the car and carry it to the chassis shop for all the piping and header work. That should save me considerable amount of time trying to do it myself. I look in every fortune cookie, hoping to get the one that says "big package coming from Tennessee next week"....... But I always seem to get the one that says "patience is a virtue"........

Anyway, the 4.25" crank wouldn't have worked--I need the 4.00" stroke to get compression down to a level I'm comfortable with for a Roots-blown alky combination and 8500 RPM.Jim

On another note, my friends blow thru carb deal is a bbc with conventional out of box dart heads, and victor intake, f3 pro charger. We scaled the car thursday, 3504 lbs and last night we went to the final in our local outlaw shoot out. Ran like a bracket car all night
4.75 @ 154 4.77 @ 154 4.75 @ 154 4.76 @ 154 4.75 in the final and red lit...... We were racing full pro mods and got lucky a couple times and treed the number 1 qualifier. It was a good night

Exactly, no spark plugs, no race fuel, no nitrous, no new tires, no entry fees, no diesel in the truck, no trailer tires, not to mention any upgrades to try to go faster and not counting how much it cost me when I did break it......it's pretty crazy how much money you can spend and not even realize it.

UPDATE!!
Things are starting to become a reality. Car is going to chassis shop Friday for a new chromoly 25.5 cage, butler performance said they should have my stuff wrapped up next week. So, just as I thought this project had come to a stand still...now it's moving right along. The plan is to build the engine while don dial is doing the cage, then take him the engine and turbo stuff so he can build the headers, mount the turbos and intercooler and run all the piping. I sold my Chevelle street car to be able to afford to have the chassis shop do it instead of trying to build it myself. I loved that car, but it ain't my Pontiac! Pics coming soon!!!!
