He put an alternator on it, still has the generator. Basically an original car in need of a lot of TLC. Will need 4 tires. has all 4 hub caps, driver quality.
The seller just told me 10 minutes ago via email that it needs brakes. He has front shoes and bearings, but they aren't on the car.

My take on him is he's over his head with this car and he knows it.

Maybe I misunderstood him?? Thought he said he put brakes on it. Master cyl looks original & undisturbed. Agree on 2nd.

I made my offer, which will probably be shot down... for now. He is sure it will bring more than what he paid for it, $2,500.

This V8 61 is a rare one to have!

2004 of the 100,800 Tempests produced in 61 had the V8, 3 had the stick the rest were automatics. Not sure how many coupes had the V8.

This car is actually in Montana, not Colorado. I have more pictures coming, but I don't think I'm a player for something that has to be shipped that far.

This 61 could be a really good deal for someone in the NE.

Here's a hood for the car if needed.

This guy emailed me today. Said he had several"low ball" offers. Said if he cant get his asking price, he will keep it & take out a loan for the Judge he is looking at. I didnt answer him yet.

He shouldn't have bought it in the first place and it isn't worth 4 grand. Needs way too much jack to bring it up to speed to bring 4. I'll fly to PDX, give him 2, spend another 550 on tires the day I fly in, drop 250 on gas/16 hours driving home (If it makes it), and another 10 Large/1000 hours restoring it. What else could a seller expect???

I spoke with him and made a "fair" market offer. He went on and on how rare the car is and how the car could be made into show quality! I told him the car is rare but the cost to bring it back is 2 to 3 times his asking price. Some how he thinks this is a 25K car when restored! Not a good cost to value if you were looking for an investment. If you just love the car and want to see it back on road like me, the asking price is about $2000.+ over top of that market. He's thinking its a chevy in parts and cost to restore!! It will be back on the market again!

Agree & Agree!!! I basically said the same thing to him. Probably would take 2K at least to get the seats recovered back to original,,not including everything else it needs. Yes, very rare car, yes, would be very neat to see it restored & back on the road. Yes, will take 10K at least to restore back to original,,, not including labor. No, not worth what he is asking considering all it needs. At 95K on the odometer, motor is probably at its lifes end & will need overhauling, trans too!!
