Default Looking for other option than to replace a dash pad.

My dash pad on my 67 Firebird is shot. Are there any other options rather than putting another dash pad on? Seems like a waste of $$ to buy one.
Pics would be great to. Thanks

Yes, dash cap - but I've got to be honest, I hate mine. It's hard plastic and looks cheap as hell. My plan is to pull mine out completely, rip the cap off, smooth it out and recover it in either leather or alcantara.

Aren't dash pads $250 and easy to install?
