The article I read online states the buyer, Rick Champange is a Pheonix area logistics company owner. If you can afford 4.2 mil plus 10% buyers fee your living room is probably big enough to display the vehicle.

There was a Batmobile that went through BJ a few years ago. They had everyone on stage in bat costumes.
What I dont understand is this: Here locally, the Volo Museum has a George Barris show every summer with the cars they have that they claim are his cars. Itsa pretty big collection. The Batmobile is is one of them. It can be seen driving the local roads. They still advertise as "See the George Barris TV and Movie car collection" Are these Georges cars or are they replicas? If they are replicas, why would George indorse them as his? http://www.volocars.com/rental_detailed.php?cid=868 |

If they've got the money to pay those prices, then good for them. spend it and enjoy it while you can, you can't take it with you! would love to go one of these years to check it out in person.

Is the original Barris car metal or FG? I know it was made out of the Lincoln Futura. But, have always wondered if it was a metal bodied car.

I think the Ghia's were a glass body, so I would think this was as well.

Man,
Glad I got my steel bodied one back in the 70s before the price went up so much.

"Holy waste of money Batman..."
I guess the buyer knows the Atomic batteries don't go to power, and the Turbines don't really go to speed... Yeah, I watched the show, first run, way-way back when...

Don't forget, the new owner also got his jacket right off his back.

Here is a model of the original Mercury Concept that was reportedly used as the basis for
the original Batmobile as displayed at the Peterson Automotive Museum: One of the Batmobiles on display there: And More Bat Equipment at the link below: Page Link |
