Firebird Speedocable
Is there any way to eliminate the intermediate box between the upper and lower speedometer cables on a 1979 TA?

you mean the part for the cruise control?
i just swapped in one longer cable, its been some 20 years since i did it so i dont remember off hand what it was i dont remember if i got it from GM at the time or the auto parts store (when there really were auto parts stores and auto parts counter people) i had to do that when i swapped from the auto to the 4spd, then i swapped to the 5spd |

If its like a '78 then you can just buy a cable for a car w/o cruize

My '79 T/A had a 2 piece cable and no Cruise control.

Maybe a one piece cable from a '78 would fit?
