In a message from Jim Wangers dated today:

For those of you who care, today January 9, 1926 was the day that the first car called Pontiac was built .

If you think about it, had they not come up with the first model called Pontiac, we may not have "Darksiders", "Goats" and "SD Cats".

I'd imagine Oakland buyers were sad to see their brand name going away. Dern youngsters with their newfangled Pontiacs! I'll show 'em all in ma Oakland!
