"California car" no longer necessarily means "rust free." He'd have a hard time getting $18,000 for it if it was running great and sporting shiny paint with a clean interior.

I'm local to that last one if any of my pontiac brothers need a set of eye balls. At worst it would make a killer drag car.

People are amazing... He spells it 'perpeler'... Yet knows to refer to it as a 'prop' in the body of the ad. Wouldn't that make him wonder?

This guy is not entertaining any offers...Why? Because he wishes he could find a car like this for what he's selling this one for! Will someone please tell him he already has one...?

Default Coronet 440

I had to research this model. I figured Coronet 440 was a reference to the engine size or something (like the Olds 442), but apparently the Coronet 440 was just another trim level available with a 318 and four doors. Go figure.

I would like to read his ad, but it's too big or something. The right side of the advertisement is blocked. I tried changing my settings, but it made no difference.

Weird... It wasn't like that for me when I posted the link but it is now.

It reads like Harry Reid discribing a greased pig contest.

It's an actual 1968 GTO. This is a project car and it's not running. Call me if you would like to see it 661-706-8844 or 661-220-9277 ask for Roger or Anna.
This is a vin number 42 = GTO. This car has been in California most of its life. You will not be disappointed in the floor boards I took some photos. All I know about the car is that the block has been changed once, but the heads are the original Ram Air 3, and as for the transmission I don't know if it's the original. The engine has a loud knocking so I'm calling it no good. This GTO has a manual 4-speed Muncie with a Hurst racing shifter.

Other Questions you might have and things I know.
See photo for vin number...
I was going to cover my plates, but it’s too late, you can see that they are the black original.
I am a privet seller.
This car has a clean title.
This car is located in Bakersfield California a hot and dry valley area.
The surface rust you see on the roof is not all rust, most of it is bubbling glue left over from the removal of the vinyl top.
This car was smoking weight smoke before it was parked and the knocking noise eventually got louder and lost horse power, I think, one of the piston rings went out and after that blow a piston rod.

New Notes 5/10/12 I was asked a question about the heads, if I have any documentation?

My answer come see the car if your interested, I don't know to much about it, and I don't care to know. I don’t have the time anymore or any documentation to show if they are original Ram air 3 heads, or if the car came from the dealer this way. This is what the seller who sold to me had posted in his for sale sign that I still have, he also told me that they are the original heads. I’m going to say that they are not Ram air 3 heads because I don’t know if they really are, and don't know how to tell them apart from non-ram air 3 heads.

But if they are you just got yourself a good deal on a GTO with Ram air, and if they are not you still got yourself a good deal on a GTO.
I guess it was a pretty heavy car.

Still don't know why you can't see it all... I think he went in and edited the pics and somehow changed the layout.
Anyway, I was able to select and copy my favorite quote from the ad...lol

no offers will be considered at all at this price!

Why? Because I could only wish myself to find a 1968 GTO with a manual 4 speed at this price.

It sounds like he is a flipper. He got it cheap, and wants to sell it high, using the previous sellers description. If it is such a great deal, than he should keep it. He won't even check the numbers on the "ram air" heads when a potential buyer asked for verification. He "doesn't know" or "care". Well that makes me trust him.

I sent him a message a few hours ago & asked why he was wishing he could find a GTO at that price when he already has one. I haven't heard from him yet.!!!!

A Framingham Mass car, so that doesn't mean a whole lot.
