Default New Master Cylinder Lid Leaks

I put on a new master cylinder, booster, hold off valve and some new brake lines and rear wheel cylinders on my 1970 Judge.
Brakes work fine only complaint I have is that the new master cylinder lid leaks fluid when I apply the brakes it just doesn't seal right.
Has anybody else have this happen with a new reproduction master cylinder and is there a cure?
Thanks

Is your lid new or used? Is the rubber seal/gasket new or used?

Yep, I put on a new booster/master cylinder bought from Ames and the master cylinder leaked from day one. Went to a local brake supplier and bought a new one. No issues since.
