Default Parchment Vinyl Top same as Parchment Interior with Gold Tint ?????

I was searching around for a Parchment vinyl top for my Windward car and started to notice that most of the vinyl tops for 69 were named white and not parchment. Joe in AZ gave me a call and we talked about this and he mentioned he has never seen the factory gold tinted parchment for any top (convert and vinyl top). So I really started digging on the net and found that the only company to possibly carry parchment vinyl tops was SMS auto fabrics thru a posting on Chevelle website. So I called SMS and Legendary for their vinyl top samples to see. This had me thinking and a friend from work reminded me that I have a original dealer 1969 Pontiac Colors/Interiors/Accessories binder. I came home and looked and here is what I saw.

My other question is with a correctly restored car, is the headliner suppose to be white or parchment with gold tint like the seats/door panels, and also was the console white or parchment with gold tint?

What are your guys thoughts/opinions as I can honestly say I have never seen/remember a original 69 parchment vinyl top example.

I bought a low mile 69 GTO from the original owner that was Warwick Blue with Parchment vinyl top and Parchment interior. Both were original to the car and the car was always garaged. It was featured in a Muscle Car Review article back in the early 90's. From what I remember the sales order called the white vinyl top Parchment though it was not of the same "sheen" as the Parchment vinyl interior. I have seen a lot of reproduction seat covers that are not correct in color. Some have to much of a "pearl" look to them. The headliner was also a shade "whiter" than the seats and did not exhibit the same "sheen" as the vinyl seats. The headliner and vinyl top are not made from the same material and may not have been made by the same company therefore the difference in color and appearance. Parchment interiors for 69 always had a black dash, console, package tray, kick panels, and black carpet on bottom of door panels. Do not confuse the Ivy Gold color with Parchment, they are too different colors. Also Ivory White is different than Parchment it has a more "bleached" white color. Ivory was used in 71 and later I believe for interiors. I noticed you are comparing convertible top colors with Cordova top colors. They have a different pattern and material that will reflect the light differently and affect what color they appear to be.

I currently own a 77k mile 69 Lemans with Parchment vinyl top (original), Warwick Blue exterior and Medium Blue interior.

I had the original convertible top on my 69 GTO when I bought it when it was two years old. The top was white and not parchment(no gold tint to it) I also owned a 69
Chevelle SS 396 with parchment interior and white vinyl top back then and the vinyl top looked white.....not parchment.

White is correct for gm cars. Parchment is really a Ford thing for the roof. So the roof was white and not parchment with no gold in it at all
