Going to do the Eddie Motorsports..... seems all 3 of the major players have all equally great reviews.... so why not go with the least expensive
http://www.eddiemotorsports.com/prod...ges-64-67-gto/ The other players are http://www.shopfesler.com/1964-1967-...od-hinge-pair/ http://ringbrothers.com/1966-1967-gt...frame-985.html

Agreed. I like the minimal bling factor too. Did you buy black? At a glance you may not notice! I would probably do those as well.

I am going to deal direct..... talked to someone there.... very helpful, and I dont want a middleman in case of fitment issues....
Plus.... I have not seen any savings going thru one of the vendors that distribute their product....

John,
What wheels are those on your car and what is their size and backspacing? Sorry Nick did not mean to hijack your thread but thanks for pointing me to it. Dale Quote:

So true story....it's December 26th 2014, I live in Waterloo Iowa and I just took the GTO for a spin....It was over 40 degrees out and it hasn't snowed in probably at least a month. Its rained a bunch so the roads are clear....HA! This may never happen again!

Got my Speedhut gauges in the mail so I thought I would hook them up fast and see how they look. It took a while to get them but they are very nice quality. Iv'e seen a couple guys fit these behind stock 66-67 GTO dashes without making any cuts and it looks really sharp. Almost factory install clean. I did a Volt/Fuel gauge, 140mph GPS speedometer, 8K tach with programmable shift lights, and a oil/water gauge.
The layout is kind of similar to that of the stock rally gauges and they come with a dimmer switch that can be mounted anywhere. In the pics the color is turned all the way up. Honestly the nighttime colors are much more bold in the pics than they look in person. I'm not sure if its a glare thing or my phone camera or what but they are much easier on the eyes in person. Here they are.... ![]() ![]() ![]()

WOW, I really like those. Wish I would have known about them before I did the Rally Gauges. Now I need to get off of my lazy butt and list my original stuff for sale.

That said I got the idea to put these behind the dash from FatfreeGTO and Old66Tiger. I'm using Bob's {Old66Tiger} method with the 4" gauges and ABS plastic backing plate to install BEHIND the metal adapter plates as opposed to FatFreeGTO's method of installing 3 3/8" gauges IN the metal adapter plates. Here is FatFreeGTO's thread link to his installed gauges: http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...peedhut&page=4 Here is Old66tiger's link to his dash project: http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...light=speedhut

Nick, those gauges look nice. I'd say even nicer with red lighting instead of the blue.... easier on the eyes at night.

Today I got the Speedhut gauges mounted to the dash. I'm really happy with how it came out. I used...
-Template from Bob {Old66tiger} -1/4" ABS plastic from Ebay -3-7/8" holesaw from ebay -7/32 drillbit, drilled at 15* for proper mounting -1" #6 screws and washers to mount the panel I think it turned out great! Once I got everything set where I wanted it, I trimmed a lot of the excess plastic off around the edges. No sense in having that in the way. I also had to modify the metal bracket that holds the ignition switch and lighter but that was no big deal. Next up is spraying the metal bezel and plastic dash! I'm going to use a Krylon satin black and Spaz Stix chrome paint and see how it comes out. Here's some pics... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Me too. I'm really hoping I don't have to pony up for a new re-pop dash. I don't want to spend the money on one when I have 2 really nice AC dashes that just need restoration. Does anyone do the electroplating in a timely manner anymore?
