Steering Column Height Issue?
Not sure if this is normal or not. On my 68 GTO with non-tilt steering column and stock deluxe steering wheel, there is a 1/2 inch gap between the top of the steering column and the low dash trim. Also, I only have a 4 inch gap between the bottom of the steering wheel and the top of the seat, making it very hard to get my legs in and out of the car. I have added pictures. Is this normal or did my steering column some how drop or possibly needs an adjustment?

That doesn't look right. The steering column bolts up from the bottom right behind the dash and if it got loose it would drop like that. Or maybe somebody added spacers to intentionally lower it.
Suggest that you remove the lower dash trim and take a look. How the column attaches is quite simple and you should be able to see why it is low right away.

Mine had spacers in it I removed when I put the tilt colum in, they were 1/2 inch spacers.

Mine has a 1/4 or less look up there for spacers.

Thanks guys. Yeah, it sounds like somebody modified something under there. Was gonna crawl under there today but I tweaked my back this morning. I'll get under there and see whats going on some time this week hopefully.

I pull my seat when I have extended underdash work to do. My back kills me leaning on the seat!

I suspect that if your inspection confirms that it is bolted in properly then maybe the column collar may come from a different GM division car that was contoured to fit a Cutlass dash for example.
