65-67 GTO & LeMANS always get/have the same trim, I think this goes for 68-69 as well.
The Tempest is the model that differs.

Was on eBay a while back, looks very clean. GTO interior is identical to LeMans (except emblems). Color is not correct 69 color.

It didn't pull a lot of money on eBay, from Idaho I think. There was also a 69 Sprint on eBay, also had soft bidding.

wish the PHS docs were readable. lots of options but no a/c or pwr windows, makes me wonder what they are.

I think I took a screenshot of the old listing which was legible, I'll post it tomorrow if I have it.

I thought the HO stripe was a Firebird-only thing?

I can't tell but does it have a 2 bbl carb ?? The fuel line looks like it's very high like it's going into a 2 bbl carb feed. Reason I ask is if it's a 2bbl it can't be an HO,, can it??

thanks Diego. i agree about the h/o stripe. never have seen it on an a-body with documentation. another interesting thing, auto on column with bucket seats. seen it before but still think it would be kinda rare.

Well, weren't buckets standard for the LeMans?

If that's the case, I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't very rare at all. A GTO like that? That would be rarer. But I dunno - I've never really paid attention to LeManses, so I'm just assuming that standard buckets and the most popular tranny in a non-performance model (aside of the HO) would be in this configuration.

Lemans and GTO got the buckets standard. If you ordered the automatic but didn't spring for the console you got the column shifter. Probably not rare at all back in the day. Most cars that have survived until now either had the console or have had them converted, making it more of an unusual sight today. My '66 GTO has buckets and column shift.

The HO stripe was a Firebird thing. The only other A-body that I've seen with it was done by Chris ("The Boss" here on PY). He added the stripe to give it a little more 'pop' when he was selling it. It's funny, seeing the color combo and HO stripe on the one from the original post made me do a double take.

Also, just noticed the Lemans in the CL ad should have "LeMans" lettering on the front fenders.

No HO or Sprint stripes on 69 Fbirds (I think the body feature lines and fender "vents" precluded stripes). The 69 Abodies used stripes for the Sprint only but I guess you can install 67-68 HO stripes from 67-68 Fbird on A Bodies.

Often missing because to remove or install them the fender has to come off. (Because of the tight fit against the rad shroud)

That car came out nice - stock or not, the stripe works.

I like the stripe and used Chris' extra black set on my white HO. It's vinyl and can always be removed if the next "caretaker' doesn't want it. As far as availability on LeMans HO's I remembered reading the attached message.

I have yet to see anything in print about the HO stripe for the A-bodies. Not saying Jim's wrong (and what year was he talking about?), but this is new to me. Even the brochure with the HO (I think it's the '68) shows no stripe.

Owner claimed it was factory but he's the son-in-law of the original owner and is into Broncos, so he's only going by what he was told.

But it looks like an interesting car - best engine, loaded with options, and good colors (and two-tone besides). If I had the wampum for it, the only thing that could make it better was a stick and possibly a Tempest post.

I had another set made up in red for my OHC-6 car...they never went on, up to the new owner for that.
