I have been searching for quite some time now to find out what the old stickers were called that the guys would put in their rear windows to signify whether the car was running a 4 speed or an automatic. Its been years since I have seen them, and would like to find out what they were called and where to buy some. I always thought they were a leaping tiger, but search after search has returned no answers. Any help? Thanks! Also, anyone remember which direction it faced for a 4 speed vs automatic?

I have never heard of this.
Was it a regional thing? K

Must have been a Denver area thing. I remember growing up and seeing them all over the place. My father has them on several cars in his collection, I'll see if I can post a picture of one. Unfortunately, he doesn't remember where he has obtained them through the years. Thanks for the replies.

Never saw anything like that growing up in MN. My dad started selling for the local Buick, Pontiac, GMC and AMC dealer in 1963 (prior to that he worked for an Olds/Caddy dealer).
