Danica's extremely lucky 15th place finish (you have to be lucky to finish 15th when you're 2 laps down) keeps her in 18th place.

But I predict that by the end of June she will be in the 20's.

Right now, I see Greg Biffle passing her up within the next 2 races. Kyle Larson should by the end of the month too. With Sonoma this month, AJ Allmendinger could also get there.

Meh..... she is a non-factor

I am really concerned on how bad Tony is doing...... Harvick proves the equipment is there....

As a Stewart fan, I'm also concerned. On the race broadcast yesterday, they were speculating that some drivers (they named Gordon and Stewart) do not seem to be adapting well to the new Cup car this year.

Obviously Gordon is having a much better season than Tony.

Could the combined pressure of running a 4 car team, several racetracks and race teams, last year's situation in upstate NY just be overwhelming him too?

I have a few friends involved in high places in NASCAR and the drivers describe the new package as making the car "evil"They are on the edge every moment and Tony just cant get a setup he likes.4 and 41 car setup are very close,Tony has tried them and could not drive them.Happened to Gordon a few years back.Clean air has become even more KING with this package. This year will be more of track position importance.Tom

I underestimated Danica's ability to move down in the points. Previously I posted that by the end of June she would be in the 20's.

Well she did that in the first race in June...

Both Biffle and Larson (2nd year driver who actually missed a race this year) flew by her while she was spinning....

Mears, Ragan and Dillon all gained points on the Ice Princess this week and could surpass her this month. Allmendinger lost an engine at Pocono and actually lost a point to her, but I still think he can pass her this month.

Also - it appears that the rumor of Danica going to F1 next season driving for the new Haas F1 team was just that - a rumor. Fact of the matter is - the Touring Princess does meet the qualifying criteria to earn an F1 driver's 'super license'.

Besides, according to Haas team principal Gunther Steiner, Patrick, who has won an IndyCar race, was "happy" racing in the American NASCAR stock-car racing series.

Happy as long as the sponsors provide the cash to allow her to be a millionaire. Of course, Go Daddy is gone after this year...

I am NOT a Danica fan but I will give credit where credit is due. I watched the Xfinity race yesterday and Danica was one of the color announcers. She did a very good job.

Maybe she's found her calling
Actually, I predict she'll have a cooking show of some sort

For her, that's almost as good as a win. Real racers are more concerned about leading the last lap.

Once again, the media is trying to hype the Touring Princess...

"Danica Patrick hopes her extensive road racing background will be beneficial to a good run in Sunday’s Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway.

Patrick has made nine starts at the 1.99-mile road circuit during her racing career. However, only two were as a Sprint Cup Series driver. Her other seven starts came when Patrick was an Indy Car regular."

Her Indy Car experience doesn't seem to help her much - her average finish in Cup competition is 23.5 out of 43 cars. Her average finish in Indy Car is quite a bit higher - 13th. Of course the average number of cars entered is only 23. Her last three Indy Car finishes were 16th out of 24, 16th out of 25 and 21st out of 28.

So no matter the venue, she's typically been in the bottom half of the standings - despite her "extensive road racing background"...

Two races into July and the Touring Princess is now in 22nd place in the standings (which is not very good because only 30 driver's have been entered in all 18 races to date - and 2 of the drivers who have not made all 18 races are ahead of her).

She wasn't too happy with Dale Jr. Saturday night:

“F— 88,” Patrick said, angrily, to her team. “Did he f—ing hit me? Go f— yourself. Really?”

For the record, Jr. did hit her. He lost his brakes and tapped her in the rear. She lost control (surprise...) and bounced off the wall.

Of course, Wanica had to go and bang into Earnhardt on pit road...

Earnhardt's comments:

"I mean, what am I supposed to say other than the truth?" Earnhardt said. "We didn't have any brakes going into the corner. I know better than to run into her because it gets so much attention. There wasn't nothing I could do."

And now the Danica Aero is finally going away. Nice to see real racing again.

She was at least a lap down when it happened, maybe 2, it's not like she's not going to make the Chase because of that incident. It's also not like it makes any difference if you finish 24th or 34th when your that far down.

How bout when she did the John Force burnout leaving the pits and ran into the car pitted in front of her? Opppps! Or the many screw ups she's made on track in the last 3 years taking herself and someone else out with her. People who live in glass houses need to refrain from throwing rocks at others.........................

She hasn't hit a track dryer....yet....give her time, and I'm sure she can be right up there with JPM.

Reminds me of American Graffiti, when the guy cruises past "Terry the Toad" while he's driving Steve's (Ron Howard's) 58 chevy, after Steves tells him he's going to entrust Toad to take care of his prized 58 while he's away at college. "Man, what a waste of a perfectly fine piece of machinery." Same goes for the #10 car.

JR was wearing the Nationwide colors this weekend (Blue and white) and the touring princess had her Go Danni (green) on her car. Blue car kept going, while the "green" car hit the wall and had to pit. Green race cars = bad luck.

Haven't we already seen her worth proven when the 10 and 41 teams swapped?

Although it pains me to say this, Danica was on the lead lap when the incident occurred. I believe she was in about 26th place at the time.

Earnhardt didn't really hit her all that hard (no real damage to her rear or his front) and it wasn't in the corner.

IIRC, Jeff Burton, at the time of the incident, commented that she was "loose" (I use the term "loosely"... ) and had slowed down prior to Earnhardt hitting her (which makes sense as Jr. wouldn't be trying to hit her).

Let me do some quick math here...

Kurt missed three races, but leads Danica by 146 points, with the crew that wasn't good enough for the Ice Queen last year.

So...

Crew - As good or better

Car - As good or better

Driver - Busch averages 36 points per race - Danica averages 22 points per race

I think we found the problem...

FWIW - her results since June 1 have netted her 7, 29, 20, 9 and 10 points for an average of 15 points per race.
