I can't wait to see Justin make a pass on the new car,now all he needs is the wide bs IA 2 block.

(my dragster has headlights)

We already did one of those back in the day or should I say I seen one. The only thing with that the trailer had to be at the end of the road hard to turn it around. That is what the guy (Jim) had to do.

The cool thing about his car to me is that it has a pontiac engine in it..and a somewhat traditional motor to boot! If that firebird body had anything but a pontiac I could care less and it would be another car in the crowd. Really enjoy seeing a pontiac engine beating up on most of them. The car has strayed alot from streetish looking but I guess he doesnt care about that,,,just to win. The street look is also very cool but I guess at that level you dont need to mess with that any more. Theres still plenty of "fast street cars" on there but just wont be at the top of the list,,,Im still impressed with them too.
The 70 GTO had an extra cool factor with me though.

It would if everyone else on the show had one. That is Joe's point.

Either evolve or die...Justin decided to evolve. Very few of the cars on that show are "street" cars and as was already said the show is about fast "street raced" cars. I am sure Justin got pretty tired of being outgunned in the cash days deal by a promod so he decided it was time to even up...

How long do you guys think the show would have lasted had it showed them getting spanked by this same type car every season from now on?

But they don't race on the street either. They race at an old airport. I guess John Force should just show up every week with a 3 second car detuned to 5 seconds for the street, even if he pedals it a few times he will still win every week. That is what made this show different from NHRA, trying to get a street legal car down a street. They do neither now.

That's a funny statement on this forum. Most of us are into Pontiac powered stuff because we are either weird/different, and/or we don't evolve.

I would get more enjoyment out of seeing a classic Pontiac street car with an LS motor or BBC than seeing a new tube chassis pro mod car with Pontiac power. But that's how I get my kicks. I am more of a fan of the cars than the exact brand of power plant. After that I get interested in turbo vs. nitrous, big tire vs. small tire, etc.

No evolution is really required, tho, to stay "competitive". Just don't populate the show's competition with pro mod cars. The only kicker is that there can't be any more bragging about being the fastest in the country, because it probably wouldn't be true.

But it is still great TV, and one of my faves to watch.

Got your license plates right here.

You would think, from peoples reactions, that Justin is the reason for bringing down the show, but a pro mod street car is nothing new.

I would rather see Justins car with a REAL pontiac, and a pro mod body, than a stock gto or firebird with a BBC or LS engine.

When is Rodney Butler getting a PM body?

Jack, you can't post EHTTFMF,when you have Billet Pro Mod heads. LoL

True some is on streets, but they [Discovery Channel] get permits to close the road first so that takes care of the "outlaw" part. Don't get me wrong, not a bad show, I liked it the first couple seasons but it has "evolved" as some put it to IHRA with a little Kardashians thrown in for time filler.

Come on guys. The show is the best show on TV if you are a car guy. What would you rather watch ass monkey garage? Count customs is the same stuff with a different car every week.

Chief went out there and called the entire country out. He has got everyone gunning for him. I do not like the car, if it was an A body pro mod like the crow I would have liked it better.
With that said, he is already an underdog running a Pontiac with 482 C.I. A 340 cfm Edelbrock head against 632 c.i. cars. Hell half the small blocks he runs have more cubic inch than him. An LS head stock can flow that! LOL

To stay # 1 and be the fastest he needed to be lighter since they are all coming for him. Kye Kellys car is a pro mod, it just not look as drastic.

He would go quicker with better heads.

Pro Mods are not running 340 cfm heads for nothing......just saying!

George, they are working on doing a Detroit vrs 405 show, you going to race your car against any of them? Got a friend up here that is going to take part, has a car much like Daddy Dave's except he does drive it on the street.

What does EHTTFMF mean?

he said in his interview it will always be Pontiac powered, but like i said in a post earlier..it would be awesome for him to switch to a DCI RA V cyl head...he might have to ...eventually.....but i'm not sure Butlers use them..i believe they are Edelbrock only...maybe he'll have to use the Pro-port edelbrock..but eventually ..i think it'll be hard for a 340cfm cylinder head to keep up..??????...
EHTTFMF...i thought..Edelbrock heads to the Front Mother F_ _ _ _r
