The code '60' paint is the same as the code '06' Orbit Orange.
(changed from 06 to 60 later in run)

I show 618 OO for GTO's in 1970
(some info I have show 611 as Judge? not validated)

Right, but we're talking about Canada here. :-)

So if they have production numbers for 06 paint codes, is it possible that the 60 paint code was also used? If so, we don't have complete Orbit Orange numbers from Canada just yet.

That's a GM of Canada doc that shows 55 Code "06" cars built for the Canadian market, which I infer to mean cars built in both Oshawa and the U.S.

From the way I am reading the G.M. of Canada documentation I received and I might be wrong there were 55 Judges painted Orbit from Oshawa plant for export to the U.S. Hopefully someone else has this same documentation for their Orbit car and can confirm this.

Yeah, that's what it looks like, but I find it hard to believe none were sold in Canada.

Diego

I agree hard to believe there would not be any Orbit cars sold in Canada.

I'm sure George compiled the numbers. Meaning the Canadian invoices (both built in and exported to Canada) showed the color.

Nah, I'm saying I would find it hard to believe those 55 were not destined for Canada too.

Just to clarify.

Oshawa built 288 GTO Judges in 1970 destined to be delivered by both Canadian and US Dealerships.

Out of the 288 Judges 55 were painted Orbit Orange again delivered to both Canadian and US Dealerships.

Most of the 288 70 Oshawa Built GTO Judges were delivered to Canadian Dealerships with a smaller # being sold to dealerships in the US North East.

So no GTO's/Judges were imported to Canada?
How many regular '70 GTO's were painted OO?

I have a feeling that the '55' number is out of all "gto's" made in Oshawa, which of course most(if not all) OO cars were Judges. I wonder if this same "gm of Canada" paperwork on another color Judge would specify "1 of" how many judges made in that color, or "1 of" how many #242/gto's were made in the color??

Here is my Burgundy 70, not much to see now but getting to the point where body work is done and panel alignment complete. Ready to disassemble again and put on rotisserie. Have been delayed working on it the last couple years but now getting back into again.

My understanding is that the 55 number is the amount of OO cars produced at the Oshawa for export and that 85 OO cars where sold new in Canada. The 85 number includes cars from other plants…. RA IV and any verts

Maybe I wasn't clear.

When you say that Orbit Orange was a special-order color in 1971, are you specifically suggesting that Pontiac made Orbit Orange available as a special-order color?

Or are you suggesting that a customer could go to a dealership and say, "I want that bright orange color from last year but you aren't offering it - what can I do?"

You still aint!

My guess here is you're looking for that "special" opportunity to school all of us on this paint color option based on something you pulled from the Pontiac Archives. When what you don't realize is that the guy you intend to school owns at least one of these here special-order colored cars that some customer walked into the dealership asking about.

Now, lets have the semantics lesson.
