$375k. That's it? No sale. Maybe if Burt Reynolds sat in it it would have brought more.....

Wish the RAII would have gone higher, but think it was that particular car based on the other sales.
Nothing against anyone that owns one, but that int. color has to be the worst for resale.

IMO the most valuable would be the Royal and the Beswick cars and then the M/T cars.To me the Beswick car would be number 1.Tom

Default Barrett-Jackson

That 68 Ram Air II GTO was the bomb. I love voodoo green. If someone offered me a 68 voodoo green GTO trade for my 63 Tempest SD tribute.. I would think long and hard about it.

Just another green GTO to most there John - in that respect it did very well.

Likely every dollar Tom had in it too unfortunately.

I felt really bad for Burt there - sitting in the car with that chatterbox who looked nothing like Sally Fields being prostituted for all he was worth. He had note cards he was trying to study but then could barely get out of the car.

A once great man a mere shadow of his former self.

One thing about the BJ event. You have to remember a lot of the people buying there are not too concerned about the real value of the vehicle. What we consider "outrageous" and way over "value" is of little concern to them. If they like the car and they want it bad enough they will buy it. To them BJ is entertainment and a big party. The prices at BJ don't really reflect the "street value". Yes it will move the bar up some but it is unlikely you will see these prices repeated often.

BJ and Mecum have become "entertainment events" as much as auctions. The TV coverage has expanded as well as the content they create for the broadcast. They realize the popularity of reality TV shows and spend a lot of resources "marketing" their image and products. If they can build a viewership they create another revenue stream that could be very profitable.

I fast forwarded through most of the coverage but had to stop and rewind a couple times to savor the moment when that Gas Monkey bozo lost his shirt on just about every car he brought there, especially those two 2014 COPO Camaro race cars.

And yes, poor Burt having to put up with that circus of fools all around him. Very sad indeed.

These people buying are not worried about losing 100-200k. For the price of the BR S.E. you could of bought all the GTOs in that collection.
