I'm not a GTO expert - is this a real Ram Air GTO? It's not mentioned in the ad, but it says it is "all original". Just curious.

The engine pics show it several times with the stock air cleaner and just once with the Ram Air lower shroud.
And there is not a mention of Ram Air on the PHS doc. I'd guess the owner just bought a repro Ram Air system. Or at least the lower half.

The owner's not claiming it's a Ram Air, then again he's not saying too much about anything. Hood tac, power antenna and custom steering wheel are MIA, incorrect interior seat covers/door panels, '68 grill and quite a few other things shows it's gone through some extensive work.

He does have the required correct "400-4V" stickerage on it though.

No and the interior upholstery is of the wrong pattern. Looks like Cutlass.

Kind of a hodge-podge of parts there as mentioned. '68 grilles but '69 headlight covers is a new twist.
Wish he'd included a pic of the data plate. Looks like Goldenrod Yellow...which was a special order paint but I'll bet it was Mayfair Maize. Far from 'all original' as claimed. I'd bet 'NO' on original Ram Air.

I just noticed that it has woodgrain on the door panels. I think they lifted the entire interior from another type of car. Not sure what car?

Hehehe... yep, that's a hot mess. I'm guessing by numbers matching he does NOT mean original engine etc. Just proper date codes.

Still don't understand why stickers like that, and other blatant mistakes are seen in these cars. It's like there is a whole other world of restoration and no one there comes to forums, shows, reads books, does research etc. They just put one together the way the "guy down the street" says it should go together.
And I spend hours just tracking down the right bolts

Was initially thinking Grand Prix, but may have to revise that to Buick

Looks like Olds A body seats. Not Buick, Chevy or Pontiac seats.

I found it. It's a '72 Olds Cutlass Supreme interior, including the woodgrain door panels.

Judging by his operating definition of "all original," I suspect he is equally clueless in his own, personal definition of "numbers matching."

Good chance he has no idea it's a Cutlass interior too.
I come across way more people that are just plain stupid, than I do people that are crooked

I guess no one else noticed that the Cutlass interior is in a black car? May even be in a Cutlass.
