In addition to the story on Dr. Lane's Judge, I think he advertised it as 1 of 17 Judge Convertibles and had proof that there were only 17 made.
Most didn't know/realize how rare they were. After that more info started coming forth on the rest. Took a long time to get most of the info on the remaining Judge converts. Steve Hoog dedicated a lot of time to tracking these down.

I agree, and more sad Steve wasn't around to see those two together. Or know that not only the last Judge Vert to make 17, but last GTO vert too...

Had to go and check, it was also the 'Last' Judge convertible built according to Pontiac.

My survivor '71 is also from Matousek Motors out of Reedsburg, WI.
I thought having a Judge from a small town dealer was an anomaly, but seeing this '70 makes me wonder if Matousek had a bit of a high performance reputation? Does anyone have additional information about Matousek Motors that you can share? I'm also interested in purchasing any dealer plates or advertising that came from Matousek. That's the best picture I've seen on here in a long time. There were probably 15 or 20 similar cars in the parking lot of my high school every day.
