Look up the "Hot Rod" test car V8 Solstice. We built that at the GM Tech center and this was before Mallet did theirs. GM Performance has a book on the Solstice and some of the mods done to them for SCCA. There was an option I believe for an SCCA legal Solstice. We did a lot of modifications for the V8 into the Solstice. The book hsa an article on it as did an issue of Hot Rod magazine.

I remember when GM Tech and Hot Rod did that car. I though to myself, oh heck, that just made a lot of corvette owners crap their pants. LOL.

Thanks for the tip on the GM Book, I will have to look for a copy after the Holidays. I do sort of remember the Hot Rod Article.
I just received the Mallet invoice that the original owner received, I found out it has 1 option in that it has the Penske Non adjustable Coil Overs that were a $2500 option and found out I am at least the 3rd owner of the car. The car was originally sold in Corpus Christi TX, then sold to the Guy I bought it from in Fort Wayne in 2015. The PO only put 1500 miles on it, heck I put almost 600 miles on it the 1st week I owned it!

I haven't had much time to work on anything in the shop lately, but I did put on the new personalized plate yesterday. I wanted just a couple of letters so you could still see the Big Mack Bridge. My Wife thinks I should have gone with my original Idea of
ACMEPWD But I think this one fits the car.

Very cool!
Here's another one that's in my neck of the woods. A rare 2008 model, the only one built (serial #001). Obviously, a bit more modified than usual. It has a 4-cylinder turbo and develops 500 hp. The car won the World Of Wheels show in Chicago back in 2013. Mike

I never knew Mallet modified the 4 cylinders, interesting. I will have to do some research on that one. Must have been completed just before the Bankruptcy.
Thanks for posting the pic's!

You're welcome, Jeff.
I only took 4 pics of this car while at a local car show in my area. Luckily, I did take a pic of the display board. Mike

Mike, again thanks for the pic's. I did find out that the car was the only 4-cylinder that Mallet modified, and the 327 refers to the HP the Tune puts out.
Also the only modification that was done to the car by Mallet Performance was the engine tune. All the other mods were done by the owner. Evidently when Mallet Performance was having $$$ issues in 2008 sales of the $20,000 V8 mods were almost nothing. So it was an attempt to sell a more cost effective upgrade to Solstice & Sky owners, taking the stock GXP or Redline engine from 260 to 327HP. Not bad. I was also told most owners prefer this picture of the car with its alternate subject matter. Thanks again for pointing out some Mallet history I was unaware of.
