Hi all,
Does anyone know if this emblem is being remade or is 66 the only year they haven' redone yet? If its not does a 64-65 one fit the same holes? The emblem pics are of a 65 one. Thanks for any info you can provide. Paul

...and very hard to find. The parts book info is a bit confusing but seems to confirm this.
I sourced an NOS back in the early 80's from Bill Fennell and have never seen another since. If you happen to have a '65 I can match the pin spread against a good used '66 I have in the bin, It may work??. LMK if I can help further.

Thanks Bob. If you have a good fairly clean one (not all bubbled and pitted) for a 66 I would be interested, how much would you want for one? I have seen some on ebay going for about $30-$50 that are OK quality, a few bubbles but not too many, usable but not good quality. Could you send me some pics and prices?

I was in the shop so I dug out the Emblem to get some details.
The Number on it does not show up in either of my parts books? 9782962. However the ones I looked at online for '65 listed as 9780163 also are not on the list? I took some rough measurements so if ever possible you can compare the two. What I did note is the extra fins/pins utilized on the '65 emblem (3rd image), otherwise they do appear to be of the same dimensions. Cheers

Thanks Jeff, I measured my old grill and the holes are the same as the one you wrote the dimensions on. So it looks like 65 and 66 are almost the same.
Tim, I would be interested, mine are brittle from being in the sun so much, cracked on a few of the mounts and on two others the mount tabs are broken completely, the whole mount area is gone, so I would need to get them plastic welded somehow. So how much would you want for them, and would you carefully pack them so they don't get damaged and ship them to Portland OR? Slow post is fine, don't need them urgently? Let me know and PM me a few pics if you don't mind.

pgp66,
Yes, I could package them up safely and ship them to you no problem. I am unsure how to provide pictures in a PM so I will post a few more here in this thread or provide an email address if that is what you prefer. Here are pictures of the front, back, top and bottom. Included: Grilles, Chrome trim, PONTIAC script, original mounting bolts & clips. I will send you a PM with additional detail. Tim |

Went digging in the bins and surprised to fine a badge for '64, '65 & '66 so thought I would post up a visual comparison of the 3.
Overall the Lettering design/sizing are exactly the same. The Part numbers however do not show on my sheet? '66 are somewhat hard to find, '65 are a bit more prevalent. So if someone needed a '66 a '65 could easily be modified to work. '64 not so much. '64 Bottom '66 Top...
