Default 2020 !

Wow ! It's New Years Eve. Tomorrow it will be the year 2020 !

To us old guys who were born in the 1st half of the 20th century, that number, 2020, sounds really futuristic.

I mean, think about being a teen, back in the 60's, and saying that something was gonna happen in the year 2020. That would have sounded "far out man" .

I remember the old people talkin about stuff that happened "back in the 20's".

Some referred to 'em as "the roaring 20's".

Beginning in a little over 10 years from now, when people talk about stuff that happened in the '20's, they'll be referring to the 2020's, not the 1920's.

Just some food for thought, for you old codgers.

I agree.

Remember when the song 2525 came out?
I think most of us figured 2020 would be the date for us.
If man is still alive.

Or even the movie (or book) 2001 Space Odyssey?

Time flies when your having fun.

I caught the movie Cherry 2000 the other day and I think it was set in 2017. It is crazy to think it’s actually 2020 and all that Y2K stuff was two decades ago

Just read an article that said ... despite what we are constantly bombarded with in the news that the last decade was the best decade humanity ever had. Based on worldwide life expectancy, war, famine, disease, natural disasters etc. etc. it was the best decade in the history of the world.

I was thinking the same thing the other day. Also thought about being in grammar school and discussing the year 2000. We did the math and someone yelled out “ holy crap I’ll be 43, an old freakin man.

Well I was born at the beginning of the second half of the 20th century (1951) and I say "Congratulations" to all who have been blessed to make it this far. As the saying goes "If I'd known I would live this long, I would have taken better care of myself". Happy New Year, and many more.

Hope we all have a nice new decade, new year, new day. Stayed up to 12:10 to re-assure the dog. He was fine.
