Reserve not met at $43,000. I don't know, so I won't share any opinion on the value - but I will observe that the current economy probably won't deliver top dollar to any seller.

If that were true, it'd be on RacingJunk for less than $5K as a roller.

I know quite a bit about the car. My name is on the trunk if somebody hasn't removed it. Owner was Greg Murnane, St. Paul MN.

Yes , Jerry H. viewed the car in the 80's and the owner at that time had purchased it from the Murname family.
I think that same party still owned it when it was for sale on eBay in 2020 . Tell us all about it ! |

Does anyone have a picture of the car? The original link is long gone.

And hauling Azz
That's lower than Knafel was running in the 68 RamAir2 Roundport that was a record holder. He must have taken the record from them before the season ended. |

The car ran legal 11.80's. When I got home from Nam, Greg offered me the car for $1800, was living in my moms trailer at that moment. Had just bought a new Vette, a new Sportser, and a new snowmobile, and had money down on a house. Was trying to not go back racing, didn't work. He sold the car to some limp dick who put an automatic in it. My name was on the trunk, but I see somebody buffed out the names. He went out to Colorado and started a freight forwarding business with a Cessna 310. He flew a couple guys to scout movie locations, crashed, they survived, he died. He was a very nice really rich kid. He was very special to all that knew him. I have some film of him and the car, we towed our cars out to the 1st ever Spring Nats in Englishtown, had some great laughs on the way. The Catalina is for sale !3k, nice car, I'm 79, can't drive, selling my cars..

Cool car just seeing this thread now.
These were the cars that kept people Buying regular Pontiac’s so guys could someday go to shows and show off their rear defroster, power trunk release , or AM/Fm like it was as cool as a real drag car. It’s sad that more race cars that were raced back in the day don’t exist. It’s also sad that more period correct day 2 cars does get restored like the Camaro guys do it
