I drove it more today and it did it once pulling out of the driveway. I crawled all around it and there is a witness mark on the swaybar so I’m gonna put it on the lift and see what I can do about it

On my '64 the contact point was the front bottom corner of the wheels well. This was with 235/60/15's (26.1" tall) on 15x7" rims with 4.25" BS and front disc brakes. Just took a little tweak to the left front fender.
Running 215/55/17's (26.3" tall) now on 17x7" rims with 4.625" BS without any problems. |

I found it. Sway bar end link on the drivers side is bent. Easy enough

Do coil springs settle? I mean I know there has to be some settling but I have noticed as I have driven more and more the front seems to be sitting lower and I am getting light scrubbing on tight turns. Especially backing up.

Well I had my final abdominal surgery on Thursday so after about 6 weeks I’ll be back at it. If my wife’s confidence on doing the interior pans out then all that will be left for the forseeable future is the headliner. I am pretty stoked.

I like that sticker, my 64 GTO I bought off a guy had a 421 motor in it. With that sticker, it was a real Royal Bobcat 421 motor. Good luck with your recovery. Hang in there.

Well the car has been sitting 6 1/2 days which is the longest it’s sat since I’ve gotten it running. I can’t drive right now but I decided I’d go see how easily it would start. Hit the accelerator to set the choke and after about 5 seconds of cranking it fired right up. Sat for a minute and listened to some tunes and then went back in the house. I will be able to drive again in about another week. Getting carpet for my bday (Oct 24th) which I will install and my wife feels confident about the door panels. If I can get all that done I will almost have a complete car minus headliner.

Yeah man I gotta have music. I had the factory radio converted by turn switch to everything including hands free calling. 4 6x9 speakers ( two in the package tray and two 5 way in the original kick panel vents) all powered by a Pioneer 1000 watt amp.

I am gonna try to do the door panels myself. I have dome carpet many times before so that is no problem. My door panels have the templates on the back as to where to cut for the door handles and such but they are totally smooth and have no indicators as to where the clips or screws that actually hold them on go. Do any of you guys know of any videos or if you could give me some guidance that would be great.

Do you have the originals still? You could use them as a template.

Take a piece of wrapping paper or shipping paper and hold it up to the door, create a template.
I'm sure you can figure it out, there's many ways to do so. .

Ok carpet is going in this week. I installed the shifter hump a while back. Not sure it’s in the right place but I just self tap screwed it down so it can be moved if not. May have to enlarge the small round hole the shifter comes thru but no big deal. So what do you guys do to shield the carpet from the water that would spray up thru that hole? I have everything painted and rustoleum applied thoroughly to the hump but I don’t want water coming thru that hole and soaking the back of the carpet.
