Either pop the rubber plug at every temp change (engine compartment cold vs. hot.) or cut the nipple so the gauge can vent.

Engine-driven fuel pumps supply fuel in pulses. A non-dampened gauge will react to those pulses by showing the true pressure--which will NOT be steady.

Liquid-filling dampens the gauge. There are other ways to dampen gauges beyond liquid-filling them.

Just a standard budget priced dry gauge, doesnt say dampened in the specs.

It is connected to the regulator's gauge port, not sure if a regulator dampens the gauge any, but had same gauge plumbed directly in the fuel line about 3-4" from the carb before I got the regulator and it was also steady with no bouncing.
