Default Forum Not Loading - Safari on a Mac

As the title says, I can't login using Safari on a Mac. I get into an infinite loop of verifying that I am human. It works with Chrome on the same Mac, with only one verification. Oh well, Chrome it is for now.

Same issue here with my mac. Safari wont load anything. Chrome loads but won’t accept login. My cell works. So appear we are cell phone use only.

I wonder if that's why this site seems absolutely dead lately?

Darn, that sounds frustrating.

Here's what one AI search (Copilot) says about it... I have no idea how much of this applies or is true but at least Copilot tries to help:

Cloudflare’s human verification system can behave inconsistently in Safari, especially on older macOS versions or when certain privacy features are enabled.

🧩 Why Safari Users Might Struggle
  • iCloud Private Relay: This masks IP addresses, which can confuse Cloudflare’s bot detection. Even if disabled in Safari, it might still be active at the system level.
  • Hide IP from Trackers: Another Safari feature that interferes with Cloudflare’s ability to verify users.
  • JavaScript quirks: Safari sometimes delays or blocks the scripts Cloudflare uses for browser fingerprinting and challenge verification.
  • Cookie handling: Safari’s strict cookie policies can prevent Cloudflare from storing the verification token, leading to repeated challenges or login failures.
🛠️ Workarounds That Help
  • Disable iCloud Private Relay: Do this in both Safari and system settings.
  • Turn off “Hide IP address from trackers” in Safari’s Privacy settings.
  • Use a different browser temporarily: Chrome or Edge tend to pass Cloudflare challenges more reliably.
  • Clear Safari cache and cookies: This can reset any corrupted session tokens.
  • Try mobile site view: Some users report better success loading Cloudflare-protected sites in mobile mode, even on desktop Safari.
If the forum owner is open to tuning Cloudflare, they could reduce challenge sensitivity or whitelist known good IP ranges.

Seems some are having to jump through more hoops than others and it may be driving members away?

No more bots is a breakthrough, but if this Cloudflare thing doesn't let members log in, who are they going to call.......??

Thanks Shiny. I'll try these and see what happens.

Telling Mac users we can't use Safari is somewhat like tell board members here they have to drive EV's.

Talking

If Apple made cars:

Could only drive on special roads

Would need authorization for each passenger

The engine wouldn't be accessible

It wouldn't have windows

It would require special fuel

It would cost 69% more than other cars

The main appeal would be conformity

Only celebrities would endorse them

Every time you got a new car you would need to learn to drive again

You would have to do weekly updates, and each one would make your car run slower.

They would keep moving the controls around with each new addition

Total strangers could remotely take control of your car and drive it where they wanted.
They would put on new paint jobs to make it look like an Apple car, but underneath it would still be the same old Yugo.
It would CRASH twice a day.
