I’m putting the finishing touches on the trunk of my ‘63 . I’ve looked at hundreds of photos on the internet for the correct decal and location of this decal. The one listed from our host has a weird shape with a circle cutout on one end. Some people have put this on the side of the jack itself. It seems too big for that.
Most cars have this decal on the inside of the trunk lid itself, but I cannot seem to find any logical place for this elusive decal. Does anyone know for sure? Thanks Bill

The curvy one does go on the side of the jack hook. The cutout in the decal goes around the rivet. See the third pic in Todd's eBay listing, here:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/317182843721 There is a different decal which went on the underside of the trunk itself. My Bonneville no longer has (or never had) this one, but my '63 GP did (and still may; I think that lid is still on it, but all bets are off as to the condition of the underside of it, as the car has been weathering for several decades in the backyard). The one on the underside of the trunk (I think) dealt with jack and spare stowage, vs jacking instructions (which went on the jack). That said, it may take me some time to come up with a decent example of that one (I looked at a '62 Bonneville recently with the trunk lid decal intact, but the pic was from too far away to see details). The Ames decal is correct for the jack. How accurately it follows the original is hard to say. I've long since had my jack hook blasted and powder coated, but I have yet to schtick a decal back on it. I've looked through my sales literature, but haven't found anything useful there. My long-closed GP trunk may be the next step. I'll post back if/when I find something interesting, but the jack decal is indeed correct.

Thanks, Lewis for that info and link. I had it on the other side
and it just didn’t look right. Once I moved it , it looked better. Of course, I ripped it real good - so more orders to come. BTW, I’m in the garage tonight waxing the STS-V for its winter nap. Thanks, again- Bill

You bet, Bill.
I'm going to try to have a look inside my GP's trunk today (it's a been a decade - or four - and when I moved the car to its current spot, I'd already cut out the tail panel, so it hasn't exactly been "hermetically sealed" all this time). Who knows, though? Perhaps the underside of the lid has withstood the test of time better than some other parts (like the interior). My STS-V has been stuck at a dealership in NJ for over two weeks. My radiator went, dumping all my coolant on the highway, and necessitating a flatbed in the middle of the night (kudos to Hagerty Drivers Club for the flatbed service for a car which isn't even on my list of collector cars covered under my policy). I finally convinced the dealership as to which radiator fits and has the proper trans cooler in it, so I should have her back on Monday. Unlike yours, my '06 is my daily driver. (And talk about questing after parts...compared to the STS-V, our '50's and '60's Pontiacs are a breeze to keep in spares.) I'll post a follow-up later, if I survive the trunk spelunking.

I checked mine this morning but alas no stickers remain.

I finally got inside the trunk of the GP here (probably 30 years too late, as whatever trunk floor there was, is no more). IAC, I had forgotten that I'd swapped out the lid for the one from my Catalina parts car (though I still had the original GP lid laying on top of it). So: Catalina lid (original gold paint, some surface rust on the underside): No label evident anywhere GP lid (original black paint, considerable surface rust on the understide): No label evident anywhere I also took a good look at the Bonneville's trunk (original Nocturne blue paint, no rust, some scratches from years of use): No label present or evidence of one in the past I still have one more spare trunk lid from my gold Bonneville frame donor, built at the Southgate plant. That has the original paint on it, as well, but I would bet that the result will be the same, and there will be or have been no label. So, at this point, I'm leaning toward the '63 full size cars as not having been equipped with decals on the trunk lid, and instead, only on the jack.

Thanks for all the checking! Looks like we have a “one year only” trunk decal.
1962 & 64 have normal “on the lid” ones, while ‘63 has the jack only version.
